Elevator car door systems are provided. The systems include an elevator car having a car door and a movable car door coupling attached to the car and arranged to control operation of the car door. A mounting bracket is attached to the car, a first blade is attached to the mounting bracket, a second blade is attached to the mounting bracket, and a deterrent is attached to the mounting bracket. The first and second blades are operable a landing door coupling to operate the car door. A portion of the movable car door coupling is arranged to contact a ceiling of an elevator shaft during an overrun event when and move a part of the movable car door coupling relative to the car, and when the portion is not in contact with the ceiling, a biasing element urges the portion toward a normal position.

Elevator car door coupling systems

A method for installing an elevator drive machine in a machine room-less elevator system is provided. A drive machine assembly is fastened to a counterweight. The counterweight is then lifted vertically along a set of counterweight guide rails to the top of the hoistway. There, the drive machine assembly is mounted to the ends of the counterweight guide rails. Once in place, the drive machine assembly is then disconnected from the counterweight.

Method of installing a machine in an elevator system

An elevator system comprises a hoistway (), an elevator car () arranged to move vertically within the hoistway and a drive machine () arranged in the hoistway outside the travel path of the car () or vertical projection thereof. The car () is coupled to the machine () by a rope () which is guided by a pair of idler sheaves () so as to pass under the car (). The idler sheaves () have a diameter of less than 120 mm. The disclosed arrangement allows both overhead space and pit depth to be minimised.

Elevator installation with reduced hoistway dimensions

The counterweight according to the invention for an elevator with a frame () comprising two vertical U-shaped posts () parallel and opposed to each other and connected to each other by at least one upper cross-beam () and one lower cross-beam (), wherein the wings of the vertical posts accommodate flat ballast weights forming a mass and piled up on each other in the frame (), is characterized in that the upper ballast weights (), at least those located at a higher height than that of the conventional tilted assembly of the lower one-piece ballast weights ('), comprise at least two parts interlocked with each other so that they can be successively assembled by interlocking them in a plane and in rows between the two posts (), said interlocking providing a good lateral stiffness to avoid the lateral escape of said two interlocked ballast weight parts (and) out of said frame () during counterweight displacement.
