A female electrical contact member has a body extended by a bush open at its free end for insertion of a male member and a male-member-receiving member comprises a ring extended by elastic tongues which grip the male member. The ring is mounted to slide and float in the bush and is connected to the body by a flexible electrical connection. Sliding of the ring in the bush is restricted. The flexible electrical connection forms a loop at a point part way along its length.

Female electrical contact member

Female electrical contact member includes a body with an arrangement at one end for receiving an electrical conductor and a receiving member for the elastic engagement of a complementary male electrical contact member. The body is extended by a bush open at its free end to provide a passage for the male member and the receiving member includes a ring extended towards the arrangement for receiving an electrical conductor by elastic tongues adapted to grip the male member. The ring slides and floats in the bush and is connected by a flexible electrical connection to the body, an arrangement being provided to limit sliding of the ring in the bush.

A female electrical contact member comprises a body with connecting members at one end for connecting it to an electrical conductor, such as crimping lugs, and at the other end a series of elastic lugs for gripping a cylindrical male member and extending from a cylindrical ring connected to the connecting members by a profiled part. It is completed by an outer sleeve having a bush inserted in and fixed to the cylindrical ring and a sleeve with cut-out elastic tongues which cooperate with the elastic lugs to strengthen their action. The outer sleeve has retaining members which cooperate with a shoulder in a passage of a connector housing member and receive the female member. The part of the body including the elastic lugs has a diameter less than that of the ring, the two parts being joined by a shoulder. The diameter of the sleeve of the outer sleeve is smaller than that of the bush, the two parts being joined by a shoulder. The sleeve has a rim at its free end opposite the bush and from which extend the retaining members which are bent towards the bush and extend as far as the vicinity thereof.

Female electrical contact member and electrical connector housing member

Electrical connector comprises a housing member having a series of passages each of which receives a female electrical contact member having a profiled part which cooperates with a locking key mobile in a slot perpendicular to the passages and having a series of slots aligned with the passages, each female electrical contact member including a boss which cooperates with a guide slot of each passage and a retaining tongue cut out from a lateral wall and the free end of which is at the same end as the profiled part. The part of each passage between the insertion end and the slot includes a recess the depth of which increases in the direction towards the slot and wherein the retaining tongue is housed.

Electrical connector

An electrical connector comprises a male member with conduits arranged in rows and in transverse lines and each designed to receive an electrical contact member. The electrical contact members are locked by a locking key mobile in the male member perpendicularly to the conduits and having slots corresponding to the rows. The key includes notches in the slots and disposed along the transverse lines. The male member and the key carry markers corresponding to the rows and to the transverse lines.
