A method for controlling a submersible environmental sensor, the sensor including a support having a face which includes a sensitive zone configured to receive at least one species of interest (SOI), anti-fouling means configured to cause at least the sensitive zone to vibrate, and detection means for detecting a presence of the SOI on the sensitive zone, the detection means and the anti-fouling means being carried by the support, wherein the anti-fouling means includes actuators configured to cause the medium to vibrate in a standing mode with a wavelength 3-20 times the size of the SOI to confine the SOI on the sensitive zone, includes activating the anti-fouling means in a de-fouling mode, stopping the anti-fouling means, activating the anti-fouling means to confine the SOI in the sensitive zone, and stopping the anti-fouling means. The method also includes activating the detection means and stopping the detection means.

Submersible environmental sensor incorporating anti-fouling means

An electromechanical device includes at least one movable mechanical structure including at least one movable mechanical element; for each movable mechanical element of each movable mechanical structure a first piezoelectric layer, the first layer being disposed on a first part of the movable element so as to be able to actuate the movable mechanical element, and a second piezoelectric layer, the second layer being disposed on a second part of the movable element, distinct from the first part, so as to be able to convert mechanical energy associated with the movement of the movable mechanical element into electric energy, the layer forming a capacitance; the device further including an electrical circuit connected to the second piezoelectric layer in parallel with the capacitance formed by the layer and including an adjustable capacitance which can assume a negative value.

Variable resonant frequency electromechanical device and associated acoustic device

A system for handling biological cells includes a main channel having an inlet end and an outlet end, and, at least over a first portion from the inlet end, including a cross section such that a cell circulating in the portion undergoes mechanical stresses. The system further includes first means for detecting the presence of a cell at the inlet end of the main channel and at least one access zone opening into the main channel between its inlet end and its outlet end in the first portion, in order to make it possible to exert an action on the cell. The system also includes means for displacing the cell in order to control the displacement of the cell between the inlet end and the outlet end.

Haptic interface

A phase modulator for a light beam comprising a waveguide having a longitudinal axis, and a piezoelectric actuator to apply a mechanical stress within said waveguide in response to an electrical bias, said actuator comprising a first part covering a first side of the waveguide and having a first axis of symmetry essentially parallel to the longitudinal axis. The actuator comprises a second part covering a second side of the waveguide, said second part having a second axis of symmetry essentially parallel to the longitudinal axis.

Optical device and manufacturing process

A micrometric speaker includes a frame, an electromechanical transducer, and a mechanical-acoustic transducer comprising a rigid plate movably mounted in the frame. The electromechanical transducer comprises two piezoelectric actuators and two elastic strips. The frame comprises a central crossmember from which the two strips extend until engaging two lateral coupling edges of the mechanical-acoustic transducer, and the mechanical-acoustic transducer comprises two linearising springs each extending from one of the lateral edges to the rigid plate, to enable, during a deformation of the strips, a movement of the two lateral edges to the central crossmember and reduce the longitudinal constraints applied to the strips during their deformation due to their 'recessed-guided' bending configuration.

A multimodal haptic device includes a matrix incorporating at least one cell, each cell comprising: at least one thermal element capable of generating a cooling and a heating; at least one vibratory element capable of generating a vibration; and at least one encapsulation layer made of an electrically insulating material; the at least one vibratory element and the at least one thermal element being anchored in at least one part in the at least one encapsulation layer; each cell being adapted to be in contact directly or indirectly with the skin of a person so as to transmit thermal and/or vibratory sensations to that person, the cell having a thickness less than or equal to ten millimetres.

A flexible haptic interface including a haptic structure defining a touch surface touchable by a user, the structure including a plurality of stiff touch pixels borne by a flexible carrier, at least one actuator that makes contact with each pixel and that is arranged to transmit, to the pixel, a mechanical excitation that leads to an effect perceptible tactilely by the user.

Flexible haptic interface including a chamber containing a non-newtonian fluid and bounded at least partially by a flexible wall the exterior face of which defines a touch surface capable of being touched by a user; a plurality of actuators borne by a flexible carrier and placed so as to transmit a local mechanical excitation to the fluid; and a control circuit connected to the actuators and configured to modulate the signals sent to the actuators in order to mechanically induce a modification of the rheology of the fluid and to generate a haptic sensation perceptible by the user on the touch surface.

A portable virtual, augmented, or mixed reality device, including: a mount intended to be worn on a user's head; a display screen attached to the mount and intended to be arranged in front of one of the user's eyes; a plurality of ultrasound transducers attached to the mount; and a control circuit configured to control the display screen to display images, and the ultrasound transducers to generate, in air, at a distance from the mount, a pressure distribution detectable by the user's hand to obtain a haptic effect.

Virtual, augmented, or mixed reality device

A scanner includes at least a support including at least one first movable part, an actuator configured to move the first movable part of the support, and a phased optical grating disposed on the first movable part of the support. The grating includes at least one plurality of optical phase shifters and an optical source coupled to a plurality of optical phase shifters which is able to emit an optical beam coming from the optical source.
