The invention relates to a tool storage system () as well as to a production facility () for free-form bending of workpieces () made from a metal sheet, by means of a bending press (), comprising a tool storage unit (), a tool manipulation unit (), and a provisioning unit () having provisioning rails (). The tool storage unit () has an upper and lower storage rail (), which are disposed spaced apart from one another at a vertical distance, as well as locally fixed in place relative to one another. The tool manipulation unit () has tool manipulation devices (), wherein each of the same comprises a working rail (), an auxiliary rail (), a drawing-in device (), as well as a pushing-out device (). Each of the tool manipulation devices () can be displaced laterally next to the storage rails (), along a longitudinal guide arrangement (). Furthermore, the invention also comprises a method for manipulation of at least one bending tool () in such a tool storage system ().
