A striking mechanism, particularly for a watch, includes at least one gong fixed to a gong-carrier, at least one hammer for striking the gong at predetermined times, and a device to select at least one mode of vibration of the gong. The selection device includes at least one selector element arranged in contact on a part of the gong and held on a vibration node of a mode of vibration of the gong to be selected so as to block other modes of vibration. The selector element can be moved on the gong by a mechanical or magnetic movement device.

The invention relates to a timepiece including a resonator cooperating with an escapement system. According to the invention, the escapement system includes a moving escape wheel arranged coaxially to the balance and driven by the gear train of the timepiece, a first fixed wheel having a first toothing and a second fixed wheel having a second toothing, the first and second fixed wheels being arranged coaxially to the moving escape wheel and a device for securing the outer end of the balance spring including a part hinged relative to the moving escape wheel and arranged to ensure a radial movement of the outer end between the first and second toothings to maintain the resonator and to transmit the motion thereof to the timepiece gear train.

The musical or striking watch includes a watch case, which is formed of a middle part and a back cover, provided with side apertures and removably secured in a sealed manner to the middle part. A crystal closes the case in a sealed manner. A timepiece movement is held inside the watch case and provided with a striking mechanism that can be actuated at determined times to produce notes or music. The watch further includes at least one removable acoustic radiating membrane, which is arranged in the watch case. The removable membrane includes, in a central position, a retaining member. This retaining member is arranged with play in a housing in an inner stop member of the back cover. Owing to the cooperation between the retaining member and the stop member, the bending of the membrane is limited following excess pressure or vacuum pressure according to environmental conditions.
