An extracorporeal treatment assembly including a pump and a controller wherein an extracorporeal circuit is mounted to the assembly, the controller causes the assembly to: control the pump to pump liquid through the passage and the flow coupling; collect actual fluid pressure data; store circuit type data uniquely corresponding to a certain type of extracorporeal circuit; determine a dimension of the certain type of extracorporeal circuit; determine an expected fluid pressure for the certain type of extracorporeal circuit; based on a comparison of the actual fluid pressure data and the expected fluid pressure, determine whether the certain type of extracorporeal circuit corresponds to the actual extracorporeal circuit.

Apparatus and method to check extracorporeal circuit

In an extracorporeal blood treatment apparatus, a user interface () has a touch screen for displaying two bar-graphs () of pressures in the extracorporeal blood circuit. By touching a bar-graph three alpha-numeric values appear: a reference value (), an upper safety interval () of the pressure, comprised between an upper limit value and the reference valve (), and a lower interval value (), comprised between the reference value and a lower limit value. The reference value is a measured pressure value. Four buttons also appear on the display for input of modifications to the upper interval and the lower interval. The setting of the total pressure safety interval is simple and immediate.

Extracorporeal blood treatment apparatus

A medical apparatus comprises a control system allowing storage of a number of shaping profiles. Each shaping profile is stored as a plurality of pairs, including a shaping profile reference value and a time interval value. The reference value is represented as fraction, for instance a percentage, of the total weight loss the apparatus should achieve at the end of a treatment time. Each time interval value is represented either as fraction of the total treatment time or as a prefixed actual time interval. The control system calculates the actual weight loss rate versus time profile based on the desired total weight loss, on the desired total treatment time as well as on selected desired shaping profile.

Method of setting a time-varying parameter in a blood treatment apparatus

A medical apparatus () comprises a user interface (), a number of sensors () and a control system () programmed for displaying on the user interface screen () a number of indicia (), each relating to a corresponding parameter and comprising an indicium border () delimiting an indicium selection area (); the control system allows selection of an indicium for identifying the parameter a user intends to modify, allows setting of a new set value for the selected parameter; the control system also receives from the sensors () a measure of the actual value for the parameter and displays on the indicium selection area () of the indicium both the actual value and the set value for the same parameter. The programming software for the control system is also disclosed.
