A mounting arrangement for hitch-mounted equipment carrier includes a mounting bar having a transversely movable locking member. An equipment carrier mounting portion is movably supported by the mounting bar for movement between an operative position and an inoperative position. An actuator moves the locking member to a locking position within the hitch receiver when the mounting portion is moved from the inoperative position toward the operative position. The actuator includes a biasing member that applies a biasing force on the locking member for engaging it with the hitch receiver. The equipment carrier mounting portion is movable from the operative position to a tilt position while the mounting bar is engaged within the passage of the hitch receiver by the locking member.

Automatic locking feature for a hitch-mounted equipment carrier

A rig unit for a fishing line includes a float body and a ballast mass removably coupled to the float body. The ballast mass and the float body are configured to remain coupled together during a launch phase and a flight, and to separate from each other upon impact with the water at the end of a flight path. During flight, when the float body and the ballast mass are connected together, the rig unit is orientated with the float body arranged in front, and the ballast mass arranged behind it. After separation upon impact with the water, the ballast mass is configured to rest on the seabed. The main line has a first section descending from the fishing rod to a guide passage of the ballast mass, and a second section ascending from the guide passage to the float body, which is able to remain immersed, at a distance from the water surface, with a terminal line extending upwards, starting from the float body, to an auxiliary float with which the hook is associated.

A bicycle-carrying device for motor-vehicles comprises a support structure defining a main axis, and a plurality of legs carried by the support structure for abutment on the rear part of a motor-vehicle. At least some of said legs are orientable around said main axis. The device further comprises a plurality of arms carried by the support structure for supporting one or more bicycles, and a plurality of belts or cables associated with the bicycle-carrying device and each having a book member for engagement on the rear part of the motor-vehicle, for anchoring said bicycle-carrying device to the motor-vehicle. At least some of said legs have each a respective roll-up device for winding a belt or cable around a respective winding axis. Each roll-up device is arranged within an inner cavity of the respective leg with the winding axis located at a position spaced apart from said main axis.

Wheel clamping bicycle carrier

A bicycle simulator () is basically constituted by a bicycle pre-arranged for static or pseudo-static use. The bicycle comprises front and rear supports () for resting on the floor () that simulate the contact of the wheels of a normal bicycle on the road. The two supports are preferably constituted by a front supporting wheel () and by a rear supporting wheel () that rest on the floor and support in a freely rotatable way the respective wheel axles (). Rotatably mounted within at least the front supporting wheel is a flywheel (F, F). The front flywheel (F) is set in rotation by a respective electric motor (M) or by a transmission driven by the pedals, for creating a stabilizing gyroscopic effect, which enables the user to maintain his balance when pedaling with the bicycle stationary, resting on the floor via the supporting wheels in a static condition. The crank axle is connected to a driven member, which is independent of said front support () and of said rear support () and is constituted by a rear flywheel or even by the front flywheel itself.

Bicycle simulator for static or pseudo-static use

A metal pipe having at least one smooth portion and at least one grooved portion is obtained by progressive deformation of its wall in at least two consecutive phases. Each phase is carried out using a tool assembly including a grooved female die that accommodates the portion of pipe being deformed, and a grooved male punch that moves axially in order to give the pipe a cross section with an undulating profile, defining longitudinal ribs distributed around the pipe. The majority of the ribs each have a width in the circumferential direction that is less than the distance in the circumferential direction from one rib to the next. The pipe is subjected to a further deformation step in order to force the flanks of each rib into contact with each other using a tool assembly that includes radially movable sectors or a bushing that supports a plurality of radial rollers.

Method and apparatus for fabricating a metal pipe having at least one smooth portion and at least one grooved portion

A bicycle-carrier device includes a brace for connection to the frame of a vehicle, and bearing supporting elements to support one or more bicycles oriented transversely relative to the vehicle. The brace consists of a transverse bar, and the bicycles are supported by at least first and second supporting elements affixed to the bar, in positions that can be adjusted along the bar, so as to receive and support from below the two wheels of a bicycle. Mounted on the bar in an articulated manner is an arm that can be shifted between a raised operating position and a lowered non-operating position. Secured to the bar in an adjustable manner is at least one third supporting element that receives and supports from below an element of a bicycle frame. Each of the supporting elements is provided with means for locking in place the part that is received.

Bicycle-carrier device for motor vehicles

A cushioning arrangement for a strap for an equipment retainer, such as for use with a vehicle-mounted bicycle rack or the like, includes a cushion member selectively receivable over the strap. The cushion member defines a cushioned inner surface that prevents damage to the item of equipment when the strap is engaged about the item of equipment. The cushion member includes a series of segments that are coupled to one another and are selectively expandable in an axial direction along a length of the strap, to provide an expandable and contractable adjustable length feature. The series of segments may each include a spacer member extending across a width of the strap, a bridge member coupled to opposing ends of the spacer member; and expandable and contractable connectors between adjacent segments to couple the segments in a selectively expandable and contractable manner.

A vehicle-mounted equipment carrier includes a single-piece frame member. The vehicle-engaging and equipment-engaging members extend outward from a central portion. Optionally, the equipment carrier may be mounted in at least a first and second operational orientation. The interior of each equipment support is hollow such that one equipment support may be stacked within another. Straps pass through and are secured to the frame member. The straps are further connected to a vehicle to secure the frame member to the vehicle.

A vehicle-mounted equipment carrier includes a hub portion to which is secured a number of vehicle-engaging and equipment-engaging support members. The various support members are each connected to sections of the hub that are movable relative to one another and that include engagement structure to hold the hub sections in desired angular positions with respect to one another. The hub sections can be moved upon disengagement of a clamping mechanism that compresses the hub sections into engagement with one another, and also holds each of the various components of the carrier in connection with one another.

An equipment carrier for mounting onto a rear component of a vehicle structure, such as a vehicle trunk lid or door, comprises a frame having lower engagement elements engageable with a lower area of the vehicle component, a structure connected to the frame for carrying one or more items of equipment, at least one vehicle engaging member, connected to the frame, for engaging the vehicle component at a position above said lower area, a strap member having upper engagement elements for engagement with an upper area of the vehicle component, and at least one support connected to the frame, provided with a strap engaging and tensioning mechanism, which is engaged by the strap member and can be controlled for tensioning the strap member in order to tighten the upper and lower engagement elements onto the upper and lower areas of the vehicle component.

Vehicle-mounted equipment carrier

A bicycle trainer includes a frame, a resistance unit interconnected with the frame, and a wheel mounting arrangement for securing the bicycle wheel to the frame. The wheel mounting arrangement includes first and second spaced apart wheel engagement areas, one of which includes a threaded wheel engagement member. A fixed-position threaded actuator member is rotatably interconnected with the frame. Rotation of the actuator member causes extension and retraction of the wheel engagement member, to move the wheel engagement member toward and away from the second wheel engagement area, and to selectively clamp the wheel between the second wheel engagement area and the wheel engagement member. The threads of the actuator member and the wheel engagement member are lead threads, and a guide arrangement is associated with the threaded wheel engagement member for guiding inward and outward movement of the wheel engagement member upon rotation of the actuator member.
