A piston for an internal combustion engine includes a piston body having a generally planar crown and a sidewall extending from the crown. A stepped combustion bowl is recessed in the crown and includes an outer bowl recessed relative to the crown and defining a generally planar annular floor surface. The stepped combustion bowl further includes an inner bowl recessed relative to the outer bowl. The inner bowl includes a sidewall that slopes continually inwardly from the outer bowl to a floor surface of the inner bowl. A plurality of protruding lips extend from the sidewall toward a central axis of the piston body.

An internal combustion engine (ICE) including an engine block including a plurality of cylinders, a piston arranged in each of the plurality of cylinders, and a piston cooling jet (PCJ) mounted to direct a flow of coolant at the piston in each of the plurality of cylinders. The PCJ includes an inlet, an outlet, and a controlled flow passage allowing a substantially continuous flow of coolant to pass from the inlet to the outlet.

A connecting rod for connecting between a crankshaft and a piston, includes a small end with a cylindrical hole adapted to for receiving a piston pin, a big end having a crank pin bore adapted for receiving a crank pin of a crankshaft and a stem portion extends between the small end and big end. The stem portion can have an I-beam cross-section with a pair of legs and a web extending between the pair of legs. The web includes oppositely facing surfaces defining a thickness that is less than a thickness of the pair of legs. The web includes at least one grooved/recessed portion that is recessed relative to the oppositely facing surfaces of the web.

A cooling system for an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The engine has a cylinder block and a cylinder head. The cooling system includes a cylinder head cooling circuit and a cylinder block cooling circuit. The cylinder block cooling circuit includes cylinder block core prints channels on an upper portion thereof. The cylinder head cooling circuit includes a groove connected to an outlet of the cooling system and at least one cylinder block core print channel provided with at least one passage connecting the cylinder block cooling circuit with the groove.

Cooling system for an internal combustion engine

A crankshaft for an internal combustion engine includes a shaft body having a body rotation axis, with at least one crank pin for coupling a connecting rod to the crankshaft. The crank pin is connected to the shaft body in an offset manner with respect to the body rotation axis by two crank arms. Each arm has an arm surface facing one to the other with the crank pin extending between the arm surfaces. At least one of the arm surfaces is provided with a protrusion extending from the arm surface and configured to avoid contact between the arm surface and the connecting rod.
