A lighting device including at least two LED light sources configured for individual activation; at least two light guides arranged adjacent to one another, each including an edge surface facing a respective one of the LED light sources, a back surface extending from the edge surface provided with a plurality of diffuser extractor elements, and a front surface extending from the edge surface and opposite the back surface; and opaque barrier walls provided between the at least two light guides and extending from the rear wall to the front wall, to mechanically and optically separate the light guides. The light guides are configured to receive light from the LED light sources, with the diffuser extractor elements arranged shaped redirect received light traveling within the light guide to be projected through the front surface.

A welding apparatus for making an automotive light including light guides having an inlet which receives the fibers the laser beam produced by the laser emitting device and an outlet which propagates/transmits the laser beam collimated by said guides. The light guide has respective free ends mechanically separated from each other, wherein the light guides are configured so as to direct collimated light beams on adjacent and locally continuous portions of welding interface so as to obtain a homogeneous and uniform distribution of the light beams along the welding interface.

A method of manufacturing an automotive light including the steps of: providing a container body delimited by a first perimetral profile; providing a lenticular body delimited by a second perimetral profile; associating the profiles, with a contact surface therebetween defining a welding interface; providing a laser emission device emitting radiation, operatively connected to a first light guide with an output to distribute radiation via a spatial distribution including with lobes; providing a second light guide inside the lenticular body adapted to obtain a light guide of radiation inside the lenticular body, having walls defined by a first lobe; arranging the guides to route a first lobe of radiation from the output towards the second guide, to propagate at least one lobe of radiation inside the second light guide towards the welding interface; wherein the container body acts as an absorbing member and the lenticular body acts as a transmissive member.

The present invention relates to a lighting device for vehicles including at least one diffuser body suitable for receiving light emitted by a light source so as to diffuse the light externally to the body. The diffuser body includes a solid matrix of transparent polymer material which incorporates a plurality of bubbles or cavities, wherein the solid matrix performs the transmission of light within the body by subsequent reflections and wherein the bubbles perform the diffusion of light and the extraction thereof outside the body by subsequent refractions.

Method of manufacture of an automotive light comprising the steps of providing a container body delimited by a first perimetral profile, providing a lenticular body, internally delimited by a second perimetral profile and externally by an outer edge corresponding to said second perimetral profile, wherein the container body acts as an absorbent element of the light beam and the lenticular body acts as a transmission element of the light beam, providing optical devices for changing the divergence of the portions of laser beams in output from the fibers, so as to collimate them overall along at least one predetermined optical axis. The method further comprises the steps of directing on a critical portion of the welding interface at least a first laser beam emitted by a respective fiber lying on an optical plane incident with said critical portion of the welding interface.

Method of laser welding of an automotive light

A method of manufacturing an automotive light including the steps of: providing at least one laser diode emitting a light beam with a characteristic emission spectrum; providing a container body delimited by a first perimetral profile; providing a molded lenticular body delimited by a second perimetral profile and having at least first and second overlapping integral layers with different transmittance values in relation to the laser emission spectrum; at least partially associating the perimetral profiles; and at least partially welding at the perimetral profiles with the laser, wherein the laser beam is routed towards the perimetral profiles so as to reach the first perimetral profile after passing through at least one of the layers of the lenticular body, and wherein the container body acts as an absorbing member in relation to the light beam and the lenticular body acts as a transmissive member of the light beam.
