Responsive to identifying, based on the searching, a within-range broadcast source broadcasting the streaming content via broadcast signals, the communications device can begin receiving the streaming content via the broadcast signals over the broadcast network and cease receiving the streaming content via the cellular network.

The computing system generates second identification data comprising the first identification data, an identification code for the product, a campaign code indicating that the product is associated with the campaign, and a date of purchase for the product. A method and system of broadcasting a regional television channel to a user. A digital subscriber line access multiplex (DSLAM) receives a broadcast of multicast channels intended for delivery to the user. The multicast channels include national channels and a regional channel. The DSLAM broadcasts the multicast channels to the user and receives a regional channel control signal specifying a broadcast during a specified period of time of the regional channel instead of a national channel previously scheduled to be broadcast to the user during the specified period of time. The DSLAM switches the multicast channels broadcasted to the user during the specified period of time from the national channel to the regional channel such that the regional channel is in a specific channel slot of the national channel during the specified period of time during broadcasting the multicast channels to the user.

Providing a regional channel in a digital broadcast environment

A method of building an interactive display related to TV programs in an internet protocol television (IPTV) environment includes parsing a plurality of TV programs provided in an IPTV environment for display to a user. The step of parsing includes capturing an image in each TV program, identifying video content in each captured image, interpreting the video content, capturing audio data, identifying an audio content in each captured audio data, and interpreting the audio content for each captured audio data. The method further includes the steps of identifying a selected TV program by the user; determining a correlation level between the interpreted video and audio content of the selected TV program and the interpreted video and audio content of each of the other TV programs; determining TV programs other than the selected TV program; and building and presenting a mosaic display on a TV display including the selected TV program.

A method of delivering a regional television channel to a user over an Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) service comprising the steps of forming a multicast of channels intended for delivery to a user each channel having a specific channel slot, the multicast of channels including one or more regional channels corresponding to one of the multicast of channels; broadcasting the multicast channels to the user through a regional gateway; forming a regional channel control signal for scheduling and requesting broadcast of the at least one regional channel instead of the one of the multicast of channels; transmitting the regional channel control signal to the regional gateway; and in accordance with the regional channel control signal, at the required time, switching the regional gateway to the at least one regional channel instead of the corresponding one of the multicast channels such that the regional channel is in the specific channel slot of the corresponding channel.

An asset server is communicatively coupled to the content delivery server through an asset protocol for maintaining an asset scheduling table including asset entries, each asset entry including an asset identifier identifying a given asset in association with a starting time parameter, user identifiers identifying at least one target user device, and a set of session identifiers each identifying a session established with a target user device identified by the user identifiers. The content delivery server inserts, for each asset entry in the asset scheduling table, and for each session identified by a session identifier in the asset entry, the asset identified by the asset identifier of the asset entry into the stream of content delivered during the session, at a predefined insertion time.

A system and associated method for managing resources of a network load balancer. The method begins with registering the network load balancer with the presence server. Next the network load balancer notifies the presence server when an end user requests resources from an application server connected to the network load balancer. The network load balancer then provides the end user access to the application server and subscribes to an information feed pertaining to the end user and supplied by the presence server. After receiving a notification from the presence server that the end user changed their presence information, the network load balancer updates their records pertaining to the end user in a database. Finally, the network load balancer determines whether to continue providing the end user with access to the application server or purge the end user's records from the database.

System and method for managing resources of a network load balancer via use of a presence server

A communications network having a number of routers, a number of base stations and a number of mobile units maintains communications with the mobile units by assigning a unique address known to the routing entities of the network to each mobile unit. By including the mobile units unique address in topology updates of the network, the location of the mobile unit at any time is made known to all routers of the network. That is, once a mobile unit moves into a domain of a new access point and establishes a new link with the new access point, it uses the topology update mechanism of the network to make its new location known to all routers. Once a router of the network receives topology update information specific to the mobile unit's new location, it updates its routing table such that packets destined to the mobile unit are routed in a path which terminates at the mobile unit and contains its new access point.

The system includes a Wireless Network Manager (WNM) or Controller and a Wireless Control Agent (WCA), which control the distribution and maintenance of hopping patterns in the radio network. In a single cell network, the WNM and the WCA are included in a single base station. In a multiple cell network, the WNM is in a specific station on a LAN, and a WCA is located in each base station on the LAN. In each instance, the WNM is a centralized managing station and the WCA acts as a cell controller.
