A multiaxial connection osteosynthesis system for the spine having a bone anchor, a connector and a connecting member. The bone anchor may be implanted into a vertebral body with a connector being attached to a head of the bone anchor. The connector includes a seat for receiving the connecting member. As the connecting member is locked into position it causes walls of the connector to inwardly deform and lock the head of the bone anchor relative to the connector.

An intervertebral disc prosthesis comprising two plates and a cushion interposed between the plates is contemplated. The cushion includes a compressible body having two ends in contact with the plates. At least one of the ends is freely displaceable relative to the plate in a parallel direction. Thus, the prosthesis imitates and approximates the mechanical properties of a healthy natural intervertebral disc.

The invention concerns a spinal osteosynthesis system comprising a rod, a vertebral member including two branches capable of receiving the rod between them, a collar for preventing the branches from being spaced, and a lock for clamping the rod, the lock being freely rotatable on the collar. Intervertebral disk prosthesis

An intervertebral disc prosthesis includes two opposing plates and a flexible seal extending between the two plates for forming a closed chamber therebetween. The disc prosthesis also includes a liquid provided in the chamber and a body disposed in the liquid and the chamber, the body having a plurality of pores at an outer surface thereof and cavities extending from the pores into the body. The liquid and the body are selected from materials so that said liquid does not normally wet to said cavities and compressive energy must be applied to the liquid for forcing the liquid into the cavities.
