A rack or cabinet system, including: a cabinet adapted to receive a circuit pack; a trough assembly movably coupled to the cabinet, where the trough assembly is adapted to receive a plurality of client fibers from a faceplate of the circuit pack; and a hinge assembly coupled to the cabinet and adapted to pivot the trough assembly away from/towards a front portion of the cabinet and the circuit pack. The trough assembly and the hinge assembly are collectively adapted to pivot the trough assembly away from the front portion of the cabinet and the circuit pack to move the plurality of client fibers such that a plurality of fabric cables coupled to front-side portions of the circuit pack behind the plurality of client fibers can be accessed by a user.

Systems and methods provide a guided cable assist that blinks port LEDs on the faceplate cage of modules as an indication that assists the user in cabling a system optimally from start to finish. The systems and methods include receiving a signal responsive to a first end of a cable being coupled to a first port in a system; providing an indication, wherein the indication signifies where a second end of the cable is to be coupled; and responsive to the second end of the cable being coupled, performing a validation check of the cable connection.

Systems and methods include cabling topology for expansion of network components such as servers, computing devices, routers, switches, and other components of the like. In various embodiments, the present disclosure provides a rack which may be coupled to a plurality of additional side racks. The racks include one or more shelves (systems), the shelves being connected via a plurality of cables each having the same length and any excess slack in the cables is managed via utilizing any of a plurality of hooks. The racks may include a plurality of systems stacked on top of each other which may be connected via the plurality of cables each having the same length and any excess slack in the cables again being managed via any of the plurality of hooks.

Cabling topology for expansion

A module for a networking node is disclosed. The module includes a Printed Circuit Board ('PCB'); one or more circuits mounted to the PCB; and a faceplate that including a plurality of plates, angled relative to one another, such that the faceplate includes increased surface area relative to a substantially flat faceplate, wherein at least two plates of the plurality of plates include physical ports each having track lengths to a circuit of one or more circuits, wherein one or more of the physical ports support signals at a rate of at least 100 Gbps. Each plate of the plurality of plates can be flat. Any of the plurality of plates can include physical ports. The physical ports can be pluggable modules. Each type of the physical ports can be a same type on a given plate.

Angled faceplates for a network element

A pluggable module for use in a networking system includes a body with an electrical interface configured to be inserted into networking equipment; a head connected to the body and including a handle; and a light pipe with an entry in or near the body, the light pipe configured to provide light from inside the body to the handle. The body can include a light source directed towards the entry. The light source can be a Light Emitting Diode (LED). Advantageously, this disclosure provides an ability to support status lights in a very small surface area on a pluggable module.

A modular hardware platform utilizes a combination of different types of units that are pluggable into cassette endpoints. The present disclosure enables the construction of an extremely large system, e.g., 500 Tb/s+, as well as small, standalone systems using the same hardware units. This provides flexibility to build different systems with different slot pitches. The hardware platform includes various numbers of stackable units that mate with a cost-effective, hybrid Printed Circuit Board (PCB)/Twinax backplane, that is orthogonally oriented relative to the stackable units. In an embodiment, the hardware platform supports a range of 14.4 Tb/s-800 Tb/s+ in one or more 19&#x2033; racks, providing full features Layer 3 to Layer 0 support, i.e., protocol support for both a transit core router and full feature edge router including Layer 2/Layer 3 Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Dense Wave Division Multiplexed (DWDM) optics, and the like.

Modular networking hardware platform

A module for a networking node is disclosed. The module includes a Printed Circuit Board ('PCB'), one or more circuits mounted to the PCB and a faceplate. The faceplate includes a middle plate, a first side plate, and a second side plate. The first side plate extends from the middle plate at an obtuse angle relative to the middle plate towards a first side and back of the module. The second side plate extends from the middle plate, opposite to the first side plate, at an obtuse angle relative to the middle plate towards a second side and the back of the module.

Protection elements are provided for protecting optical networking systems during shipment. In one implementation, a system includes a card having one or more sockets, each socket having a connector device. The system also includes a pluggable module having an interface configured to connect with the connector device of a respective socket when the pluggable module is fully seated in the socket. A first protection element is configured to be held in place near a front edge of the socket. The first protection element is configured to allow the pluggable module to be arranged in a partially inserted position within the socket. Also, the first protection element is further configured to block the pluggable module from being fully seated in the socket to thereby prevent the interface of the pluggable module from contacting the connector device of the socket.

A pluggable-modules holder for a plurality of pluggable-modules of a rack-mounted unit is disclosed. The pluggable-modules holder includes a holder body and a plurality of holder ports. Each of the holder ports extends through the holder body and is sized to hold a portion of a respective pluggable-module. The holder body can be configured to connect to a rack-mounted unit before and/or after the plurality of pluggable-modules can be inserted into the plurality of holder ports.

The solution of the present disclosure connects the power in parallel distribution chains. A horizontal pizza box in the middle of the equipment stack represents the power box (PB), which houses the power modules (PMs), such as the power input modules (PIMs) or the power supply units (PSUs). The PMs in the PB are connected to the office power source(s), and the PB supplies power to the parallel distribution chains (A' and B&#x2032;). The parallel distribution chains are composed of jumper segments that are based on busbar-like technology, with each jumper segment being the length of the distance between coupled boxes. Any box can be removed without disrupting either distribution chain. Advantageously, the jumper segments are touch-proof, from a safety perspective. Thus, instead of a jumper created using a cable, PCB, etc., or a jumper composed of a custom molded back-to-back connector, the jumpers are based on busbar-like technology.

Stackable telecommunications equipment power distribution assembly and method

A retention mechanism for a navigation tool of a mobile device includes a base member and a retainer member. The base member is adapted for insertion into a cutout of a support structure of the mobile device. The retainer member is configured for mating engagement with the base member. A navigation tool is retained between the base member and the retainer member, and a portion of the navigation tool extends through an aperture of the retainer member. A support structure of the mobile device can form a cutout corresponding to the base member to receive the retention mechanism. The base member can protrude through cutout so a bottom of the base member extends a distance beyond a bottom surface of the support structure, thereby allowing for the implementation of navigation tool on a mobile device without significantly altering the profile of the mobile device.

A front installable guide for a circuit card connecting device is provided. The connecting device has a circuit card connector. The guide has a pair of elongated alignment pins. Each of the pins terminates in a fastener for attachment to the connecting device adjacent the connector. The guide also has a guiding member. The guiding member has a groove which is slidably engagable with an edge of a circuit card. A pair of parallel channels is formed in the guiding member for reception of the alignment pins such that when the alignment pins are received in the channels and attached to the connecting device, the groove is aligned for reception of a circuit card to be connected to the connecting device. The guiding member can provide support for the received circuit card.
