A protective device for an elongate catheter carrying a functional element, in particular a stent or a balloon, in particular a balloon coated with an active substance, on a distal end portion of the catheter. The protective device includes a protector configured to be arranged on the distal end portion so that the functional element is surrounded by the protector. A protective sleeve surrounds an interior to receive the catheter together with the protector. The protective sleeve has at least one projection on an inner side of the protective sleeve facing the interior of the protective sleeve. The projection is configured to retain the protector when the catheter together with the protector is arranged in the interior of the protective sleeve and the catheter is withdrawn from the protective sleeve so that the protector is pulled off the distal end portion of the catheter.

A method for connecting an X-ray marker to a base body of an implant is provided. The based body includes a receptacle for receiving an X-ray marker. A flexible film and an X-ray marker are arranged so that at least a section of the film is located between the receptacle and the X-ray marker. The X-ray marker is pressed into the receptacle while interposing the film so that the X-ray marker is plastically deformed and, together with the film, is fixed in a force-fit manner in the receptacle. The film prevents contact between the X-ray marker and the base body.

Method for mounting an x-ray marker in an implant

An absorber device for absorbing a fluid residing in an a package inner space. The absorber device includes an absorber arranged in the inner space of a container and a movable penetration device. The penetration device is configured to be moved from a first position to a second position. In the first position, the penetration device is positioned in the inner space of the container. In the second position, the penetration device is configured to penetrate a container contact section and a wall of the package. The absorber in the inner space of the container is thereby fluidically connected to the inner space of the package in the second position.

A process for arranging a protective sheath on a drug-coated balloon catheter in a machine. The protective sheath is transported via a transport system into a holding device. A drug coated area of the balloon catheter from contact with the machine. The protective sheath is arranged on a drug-coated area of the balloon catheter by machine relative motion between the balloon catheter and the protective sheath. The protecting can be placing at least one first and one second flexible film between the balloon catheter and a guide of the machine during the relative motion or can be holding the balloon catheter at a position on the catheter away from the drug-coated area during the relative motion.

X-ray markers for scaffolds

A process for repositioning a drug-coated stent that is pre-crimped on a balloon of a balloon catheter extending in an axial direction so that an inner surface of the stent lies against an outer surface of the balloon. The stent is gripped with at least one contact element and a protection device between the stent and the at least one contact element to prevent contact between the stent and the at least one contact element. The stent is moved with the at least one contact element in the axial direction with respect to the balloon of the balloon catheter to reposition the stent with respect to the balloon.

Process for machine repositioning of a pre-crimped drug-coated stent

A balloon catheter-stent device includes a balloon catheter has a catheter tube and a radially expandable balloon. A stent surrounds the balloon. The stent can be radially expanded in its radial extent by the balloon. The stent includes at least one folding protrusion, which unfolds with radial expansion and axial shortening of the stent to form an outer stent protrusion.

A process for arranging a stent, especially a drug-coated stent, on a balloon of a balloon catheter. At a stent implantation site (e.g., during an angioplasty procedure), the balloon of the balloon catheter serves to expand the stent radially, so that the stent, e.g., opens a vascular stenosis and is securely fixed to the vessel wall. Pressure plates are arranged and operate to maintain a protection device that avoids contamination of the stent.

Process for machine pre-crimping of stents, especially drug-coated stents

A method produces a marker element, which is composed of two radiopaque layers and an interposed adhesive layer. The marker element is heated and joined into the eyelet of a stent. The introduction of the mechanical force causes the two layers of the marker element to be compressed, whereby the available volume is reduced for the softened adhesive of the adhesive layer. Consequently, the softened adhesive from the adhesive layer is pushed out of the side of the marker element, so that the adhesive flows into the empty volume of the adhesive gap between the marker element and the inner edge of the eyelet of the scaffold and bonds to the inner edge of the eyelet.

Marker element and method for the production thereof

Packaging has an outer sleeve, which surrounds an interior space for receiving an object, such as a sterilized medical implant. A separate container is arranged in the interior space and surrounds an absorber in a gas-tight manner, such that a gas present in the interior space cannot pass to the absorber. The container is configured to be opened by the application of force when the outer sleeve is closed, such that a gas disposed in the interior space can pass to the absorber and can be absorbed thereby. In preferred embodiments, the absorber absorbs air with the reactive constituents Oand/or HO. Depending on the application, however, other gases can also be absorbed by the absorber. A method for packaging is also provided.
