The invention relates to a biologically degradable composite material and to a process for the preparation thereof. The biologically degradable composite material according to the invention is preferably a bone reconstruction material which can be used in the field of regenerative medicine, especially as a temporary bone defect filler for bone regeneration.

Biodegradable composite material

The invention relates to a bone formation agent of porous calcium phosphate having an isotropic sintered structure and, between the particles of the calcium phosphate, statistically distributed pores in a plurality of discrete size ranges. The bone formation agent has at least two, preferably three, discrete pore size distributions. Its porosity has an irregular geometric shape. The sintered particles of the calcium phosphate have a particle size smaller than 63 &#x3bc;m with a dvalue in the range from 5 to 20 &#x3bc;m. The interconnecting pore share in the overall porosity is limited to pore sizes less than 10 &#x3bc;m. The bone formation agent can be used in the form of a granulate or shaped body for bone regeneration. In the case of granulates, the maximum pore diameters are matched to the granulate diameter. The invention relates also to a method of producing the bone formation agent.

Bone formation agent and method of production

The tooth implant includes a conical screw section with a multiple thread, which broadens progressively from the rounded apical end thereof, is adjoined by a multiple micro-thread with a lower pitch. Such an implant has improved primary stability and avoids the injury of anatomical structures and with the micro-thread thereof avoids too high a compression and necrosis. In one example, an abutment with a post is fixed to the implant, which post includes a groove to which various structures can be clipped.

The invention relates to a phase and sedimentation-stable, plastically deformable preparation with intrinsic pore formation that can be used for instance for filling bone defects and for augmentation, and also relates to a method for producing same. The object of the invention, to provide a phase and sedimentation-stable, plastically deformable implant material with intrinsic pore formation, that is not complex to create, and that can be inserted into a bone defect by injection or alternatively can be applied to/fitted in a bone defect as a kneadable mass, is attained in that a plastically deformable preparation for bone construction/replacement based on ceramic suspension includes a particulate, porous component that is not easily soluble in water and at least one liquid, wax-like, or gel component that is dissolved in water or alcohol, the component that is not easily soluble in water being 60-98% by weight and the composition dissolved in water or alcohol being 1-30% by weight, the particles of the particulate component having a diameter in a size range that is essentially greater than a phagocytabler particle and smaller than the passage diameter of standard injection cannulas and the portion of the dissolved component in the water or alcohol being 0.1-3% by weight.
