An apparatus and method for providing ML processing for one or more ML applications operating on one or more Internet of Things (IoT) devices includes receiving a ML request from an IoT device. The ML request can be generated by a ML application operating on the IoT device and include input data collected by the first ML application. A ML model to perform ML processing of the input data included in the ML request is identified and provided to an ML core for ML processing along with the input data included in the first ML request. The ML core produces ML processing output data based on ML processing by the ML core of input data included in the ML request using the ML model. The ML processing output data can be transmitted to the IoT device.

A system and method are disclosed for provisioning IP features in a system-on-chip. A plurality of identical chips are fabricated, each of which is capable of have a number of features enabled or disabled. As a default, all features are disabled. A production process is later carried out, in which the chip is installed in a greater device. During this process, the manufacturer requests a license the IP owner for enablement of various features. Using secure communications, a license is granted identifying the features to be enabled, and a volume of units permitted to be manufactured. The license information is encrypted using a key already known to the chip, and sent to the manufacturer. The chip receives the license information during provisioning, extracts relevant provisioning information using the key, and a secure processing system provisions the relevant features. Log information is generated to allow the IP owner to verify license compliance.

System for secure provisioning and enforcement of system-on-chip (SOC) features

The subject system allows a source device providing a content stream over a network connection to a sink device to adaptively bypass a transcoding portion of a content processing pipeline when the original content stream, e.g. the non-transcoded content stream, can be decoded by the sink device and/or when no actions that utilize transcoding have been requested for the content stream. The source device may power down the transcoding portion of the content processing pipeline when the transcoding portion is not in use. When an action that utilizes transcoding is requested, and the transcoding portion of the pipeline is being bypassed, the source device may power on the transcoding portion and adaptively modify the pipeline to pass the content stream through the transcoding portion. The source device may provide configuration messages to the sink device when the pipeline is modified to provide information for decoding the transcoded content stream.

Adaptive transcoding bypass system

In one implementation, trusted or certified applications are received from a service provider for execution by a software framework of the device. Certification of a trusted application may entail, for example, verifying that the application is executable by the device in a manner consist with the industry standard certification process. The software framework may comprise, for example, an Android framework supported by an underlying. Linux operating system environment and isolated in a Linux resource container. A secure access client/server interface may also be provided to support interactions between the software framework and trusted portions of the device. In further embodiments, both trusted applications and a set top box application utilized by the device to perform traditional set top box operations are implemented in at least one version of an Android or like framework.
