A tamper-resistant dosage form capsule for the oral administration of therapeutic agents comprises a two-part capsule which is shrunk around a caplet so that the outer wall of the caplet is bound to the inner walls of both parts of the capsule. The caplet is placed into the capsule, and the dosage form is then subjected to relatively high humidity and temperature conditions, followed by drying the dosage form in a lower humidity environment, so that the capsule is shrunk to conform to the contours of the caplet and both parts of the capsule are bonded to the caplet.

A capsule shaped tablet containing a pharmaceutically active ingredient in which the tablet has a cap portion and a body portion physically bound to each other; the cap portion having a larger outside diameter than the body; the tablet may be provided with a coating of a film forming polymer to simulate a hard gelatin capsule dosage form.

The invention relates to an oral pharmaceutical composition containing benzonatate. More particularly it concerns a composition of this character having improved taste and demulcency characteristics as well as one which minimizes the local anaesthesia to the oral muscosa brought about by the benzonatate.

Antitussive composition

APAP tablet containing from about 190 to 1000 milligrams of APAP, from 25 to 100 milligrams of an alkali metal salt of a low substituted carboxymethyl starch such as sodium or potassium, and preferably sodium and, optionally, a non-toxic pharmaceutically acceptable binder in a quantity equal to or less than the amount of APAP in the tablet. Several methods are described for preparing these tablets.
