Catalyst systems and methods for making and using the same are provided. The catalyst system can include a catalyst support, wherein the catalyst support has an average particle size of about 2 microns to about 200 microns. Nanoparticles are adhered to the catalyst support, wherein the nanoparticles have an average particle size of about 2 to about 200 nanometers. A catalyst is supported on the catalyst support.

Supported catalyst with improved flowability

Catalyst systems and methods for making and using the same are provided. The catalyst systems can include a plurality of silica particles and a metallocene catalyst and an activator supported on the plurality of silica particles. The polymerization catalysts have a particle size distribution in which about 10% of the particles have a size less than about 17 to about 23 micrometers, about 50% of the particles have a size less than about 40 to about 45 micrometers, and about 90% of the particles have a size less than about 72 to about 77 micrometers.

Preparation of polyolefin

Methods for producing catalyst systems with increased productivity are disclosed. The methods may comprise providing a catalyst composition comprising a solvent and a single-site catalyst component, heating an inert gas to a temperature in a range of from about 100&#xb0; C. to about 150&#xb0; C., and spray drying the catalyst composition in the presence of the inert gas to form a spray-dried catalyst system. Additionally, the methods may comprise providing a catalyst composition comprising a solvent, an activator, a filler material, a metallocene catalyst, and a Group 15-containing catalyst; heating an inert gas to a temperature in a range of from about 100&#xb0; C. to about 150&#xb0; C.; and spray drying the catalyst composition in the presence of the inert gas to form a spray-dried catalyst system.

Methods for preparing catalyst systems with increased productivity

Continuity compositions are provided as are methods of their preparation. The compositions comprise at least one metal carboxylate salt which is modified with at least one molten fatty amine. These compositions find advantageous use in olefin polymerization processes.

Continuity compositions and methods of making and using the same

A process for the production of ethylene alpha-olefin copolymers is disclosed. The process may include feeding a catalyst system comprising a supported metallocene, such as a hafnocene, having pores saturated with a selected liquid agent, to a gas phase polymerization reactor. Ethylene and an alpha-olefin may then be contacted with the supported metallocene in the gas phase polymerization reactor to produce an ethylene alpha-olefin copolymer. The copolymer may have a density of less than 0.93 g/cm, a melt index (I) of less than 2 dg/min, and a melt flow ratio (I/I) of at least 28. To advantageously result in desired effects on catalyst properties and/or polymer properties, the liquid agent may be selected to advantageously manipulate catalyst temperature profiles and/or catalyst-monomer interaction during an initial heating period when the catalyst is first introduced to the reactor.

Increased polymer melt flow ratio via feed of a supported catalyst saturated with a selected liquid agent

Disclosed herein are improvements in recycle gas cooler systems in gas-phase polymerization processes that reduce the tendency for cooler fouling, including a recycle gas cooler system comprising a shell-and-tube heat exchanger. One or more of the tubes of the shell-and-tube heat exchanger may have a flared tube inlet at the tube sheet. The shell-and-tube heat exchanger may also be coupled to a straight inlet pipe having a length that is either at least about 5 times the inner diameter of the straight inlet pipe or at least about 15 feet, whichever is greater.

Recycle gas cooler systems for gas-phase polymerization processes

A polymerization process is disclosed, including: polymerizing an olefin to form an olefin-based polymer in a polymerization reactor; and introducing a hindered amine light stabilizer to the polymerization reactor. The process may further comprise monitoring static in the polymerization reactor; maintaining the static at a desired level by use of a hindered amine light stabilizer, the hindered amine light stabilizer present in the reactor in the range from about 0.1 to about 500 ppmw, based on the weight of polymer produced by the process.

Continuity additive for polyolefin polymerization processes

Methods and systems for olefin polymerization are provided. The method for olefin polymerization can include flowing a catalyst through an injection nozzle and into a fluidized bed disposed within a reactor. The method can also include flowing a feed comprising one or more monomers, one or more inert fluids, or a combination thereof through the injection nozzle and into the fluidized bed. The feed can be at a temperature greater than ambient temperature. The method can also include contacting one or more olefins with the catalyst within the fluidized bed at conditions sufficient to produce a polyolefin.

Methods and systems for olefin polymerization

A polymerization process includes contacting the following in a gas-phase reactor system under polymerization conditions for making a polymer product: a metallocene-based catalyst system including a supported constrained geometry catalyst, at least one monomer, and an additive selected from a group consisting of an aluminum distearate, an ethoxylated amine, and a mixture thereof. The additive may be selected from a group consisting of an aluminum distearate, an ethoxylated amine, polyethylenimines, and other additives suitable for use in the production of polymers for food contact applications and end products, including a mixture of a polysulfone copolymer, a polymeric polyamine, and oil-soluble sulfonic acid, in a carrier fluid, and mixtures thereof.

Polymerization process using a supported constrained geometry catalyst

Catalyst systems and methods for making and using the same. The catalyst system can include a single site catalyst compound, a support comprising fluorinated alumina, and an aluminoxane. The aluminoxane can be present in an amount of about 10 mmol or less per gram of the support.

Catalyst systems and methods for using same to produce polyolefin products

Catalysts and methods for making and using the same are provided. The method for fabricating a catalyst may includes contacting a supported catalyst with a monomer under conditions that reduce an overall charge of the catalyst to less than about 75% of an initial charge of the catalyst. A method for polymerization may include introducing a pre-polymerized catalyst and one or more olefins into a gas phase fluidized bed reactor, operating the reactor at conditions sufficient to produce a polyolefin, wherein the polymerization is carried out in the substantial absence of any continuity additives.
