A system for cutting to length at least two strands of long rolled products () preferably coming from a hot rolling mill. The system includes shears comprising at least two rotatable drums (), each drum having a cutter () arranged to cut simultaneously at least two strands of long rolled products into finished segments. The system further includes at least two movable guides (), each including at least two channels, each guide arranged to receive and guide at least one strand () of long product. The guides are movable between a position wherein, in operation, the strands of long product are located in positions either outside of the trajectory of the cutters in a position wherein the strands cannot be cut or wherein the strands are located on the trajectories of the cutters and can be cut by the cutters.

Apparatus and method for production of long metal products

A drum () for receiving, transporting and discharging long metal products (P), such as bar or the like, preferably coming from a hot rolling mill: the drum includes at least one pair of channels (C-C) extending longitudinally axially and the channels being around the circumference of the drum, the channels simultaneously receive two long products (P,P), respectively one long product in each one of the channels that is part of the pair. Method and plant for producing metal rolled products

An apparatus for producing elongated rolled products contains a steelmaking station for producing liquid metal having at a first production rate, a rolling mill having a second production rate, and a continuous casting station located between the steelmaking station and the rolling mill. The continuous casting station contains at least two casting lines, each line being operable to produce elongated intermediate products. A first casting line is directly aligned with the rolling mill to feed the rolling mill with casted products, and at least one second casting line not aligned with the rolling mill and not feeding the rolling mill. The apparatus further contains a varying device for varying simultaneously the production rate of the first casting line and the production rate of the at least one second casting line depending on a difference between the steelmaking station production rate and the rolling mill production rate.
