A method of increasing a dynamic range of grey-scale printing by a first print head of a drop on demand inkjet printer, the first print head having a droplet orifice, the method comprising in addition to selectively supplying no signal for not ejecting a drop of ink, or a first signal for ejecting a first droplet size, further comprises optionally supplying a second signal for ejecting a second droplet size.

Bimodal ink jet printing method

A method for reducing undesired variations of print density in a printed output is implemented by selectively increasing the number of drops of ink deposited in rows traveled by nozzles corresponding to a reduced-output region of the print head compared to the pattern of drops which would be deposited if all nozzles were operating normally.

Method for reducing variations in print density

A service station system for cleaning printheads, particularly inkjet printheads is provided. The service station includes a body having a seal attached thereto and at least one pressure operated sprayer attached to the body within an area demarcated by the seal. Each sprayer includes a bent cap, which enables spraying a cleaning agent at a predetermined spray angle. The sprayers are positioned so that substantially all of the nozzle plate will be wetted by the cleaning agent when the seal, the body and the nozzle plate are positioned to form an enclosed volume. The service station also includes a pressure release valve to keep the pressure within the enclosed volume at atmospheric level during spraying.

Service station for inkjet printheads

An electrical connecting device for electrically connecting a multitude of electrical contacts, which are placed on first and second electronic component carrying boards. The device includes an isolating board having a plurality of apertures formed therein, electrically conductive elements placed within each of the plurality of apertures and extending therethrough on either side of the isolating board. Each of the electrically conductive elements separated and isolated one from the other. The electrically conductive elements are brought into contact with respective electrical contacts on the first and second boards.
