There are provided optical quantum logic gate (OQLG) characterized by 2*2unitary matrix and method of operating thereof. OQLG comprises first optical structure comprising 2optically-coupled cores with one-to-one correspondence to input binary values specified by the matrix and second optical structure optically connected to the first optical structure and comprising 2amplifying channels corresponding to the 2cores. The first optical structure is configured to receive photons in binary fundamental quantum states (FQSs) representing input binary values specified by the matrix and to inject the received photons in the 2cores, use optical coupling between the cores to mix the injected photons, and output photons into the second optical structure, wherein outputted mixed photons correspond to output binary values specified by the matrix. The second optical structure is configured to amplify, in a controllable manner, photons in the amplifying channels with preserving the FQSs and relative quantities of photons with different FQSs.

Optical quantum logic gates

Diagnostic apparatus includes a plurality of antennas, which are configured to be disposed at different, respective locations on a thorax of a living body so as to direct radio frequency (RF) electromagnetic waves from different, respective directions toward a heart in the body and to output RF signals responsively to the waves that are scattered from the heart. An artificial neuron unit and neural network for processing of input light are described. The artificial neuron unit comprises a modal mixing unit, such as multimode optical fiber, configured for receiving input light and applying selected mixing to light components of two or more modes within the input light and for providing exit light, and a filtering unit configured for applying preselected filter onto said exit light for selecting one or more modes of the exit light thereby providing output light of the artificial neuron unit.

Optical neural network unit and optical neural network configuration

A photonic computing system is presented. The system comprises an arrangement of multiple photonic processing units having input and output ports, each of the photonic processing units comprising an array of photonic guiding units configured to define propagation conditions for multiple light fields associated with one or more optical processing tasks. The system also comprises a plurality of optical connectors, each of the optical connectors performing light field to light field coupling between the input and output ports of the photonic processing units, thereby providing a network of communicating processing units. The photonic computing system can be configured as a module enabling its housing in a network rack.

Ultra-wide data band optical processor

A wavelength multiplexing system is presented comprising at least one basic functional unit extending between input and output light ports. The basic functional unit comprises at least one multi-core fiber. The multi-core fiber comprises N cores configured for supporting transmission of N wavelength channels &#x3bb;, . . . , &#x3bb;, wherein each of said at least one multi-core fibers is configured to apply a predetermined encoding pattern to the wavelength channels enabling linear mixing between them while propagating through multiple cores of said multi-core fiber. The encoding pattern may be configured to affect light propagation paths in the cores by inducing a predetermined dispersion pattern causing linear interaction and mixing between the channels; or may be configured to affect spectral encoding of the channels being transmitted through the cores by applying different weights to the channels.

A diagnostic apparatus comprising a sealed case, a first antenna and a second antenna and processing circuitry are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the sealed case includes a biocompatible material and is configured for implantation within a body of a patient. Further, each one of the first antenna and the second antenna are configured to be implanted in the body in proximity to a target tissue, generate and transmit radio frequency (RF) electromagnetic waves through the target tissue to the other antenna, and output a signal in response to RF waves received from the other antenna. In addition, the processing circuitry can be contained within the case and is configured to receive and process the signal from each antenna so as to derive and output an indication of a characteristic of the target tissue.

Implantable radio-frequency sensor

Diagnostic apparatus () includes a sealed case (), comprising a biocompatible material and configured for implantation within a body of a human subject (). A dielectrometric probe () is connected to the case and includes first and second conductors (), which are configured to be placed in proximity to a target tissue () in the body. A driving circuit (), which is contained in the case, is coupled to apply a radio-frequency (RF) signal to the probe and to sense the signal returned from the probe. Processing circuitry () is configured to evaluate, responsively to the returned signal, a dielectric property of the target tissue.

Implantable dielectrometer

An apparatus, a system, and a method for monitoring and/or performing a diagnosis. A first implantable device measures a property of a first tissue in a body and includes a housing. The housing includes a first processing circuitry for causing the first implantable device to measure the property of the first tissue. A second implantable device for measures a property of a second tissue in the body and includes a housing. The housing includes a second processing circuitry for causing the second implantable device to measure the property of the second tissue using at least one sensor. The second implantable device is communicatively coupled to the first implantable device and provides information about the measured property of the second tissue to at least one of the following: the first implantable device and at least one processing device disposed externally to the body.

Monitoring and diagnostic systems and methods

Diagnostic apparatus () includes an antenna, which is configured to direct radio frequency (RF) electromagnetic waves into a living body and to generate signals responsively to the waves that are scattered from within the body. Processing circuitry () is configured to process the signals so as to locate a feature in a blood vessel in the body.
