A punch which includes a notching tool and a separating which are adapted to punch at least one notch and a separating gap in each effective working stroke of the punch. A separating tool is formed by at least two independently disposed separating punches which are spaced from each other by a distance which is equal to or greater than a width of a web formed between two punched notches. Likewise, the notching tool may be in the form of two independent spaced notching punches.

Punch

A circuit or control arrangement for an adjusting drive of a press ram of a high-speed cutting press which includes top and bottom dies respectively attached to the press ram and a platen of the press with the top die being adapted to dip or penetrate during a cutting process into the bottom die. An arrangement is provided for maintaining the depth of penetration of the upper die means into the lower die means to a constant value in dependence upon an operating condition of the high-speed cutting press. The maintaining arrangement may include at least one limit switch operatively connected with an oscillator stage which provides adjusting signals to the drive motor. In lieu of a limit switch, a cutting force measuring sensor member may be interconnected with an evaluator circuit and the oscillator means so as to control the drive motor.

Circuit arrangement for an adjusting drive for a press ram adjustment

Automatic sliding apparatus is provided for automatically stamping stator and rotor laminations for electric motors from workpiece blanks. To accommodate utilization of a plurality of sets of tool dies on a single driveable press ram, a tool changing device is provided which includes a tool holder guide track for movably guiding the tool holder along a straight guide path in a plane at a tangent to the workpieces to be machined. With the plurality of tool die sets mounted at the linearly guided tool holder, tool exchanges can be effected simply and automatically, utilizing a linear drive mechanism for moving the respective tool die sets along the frame of the tool holder.

Automatic slotting apparatus with tool changing device

A drive arrangement for a high speed mechanical press, especially a high speed cutting press, wherein the press drive includes two eccentric shafts connected by connecting rods with a slide. Mass balancing weights are provided for enabling a complete dynamic mass balancing, with the weights being articulated by additional rods and being moved in a direction opposite to the slide. The drive further includes at least three pairs of toggle or knee joint link arrangements, with the first arrangement being nearly horizontally disposed, the second arrangement being nearly vertically disposed, and the third arrangement being nearly vertically disposed and connected on the one hand with the slide and, on the other hand, with the mass balancing weights, with the pairs being arranged symmetrically with respect to the eccentric shafts.

Press drive

In control drives for high speed blanking presses, a serious problem of excessive tool wear arises from increases in the immersion depth of a top tool into its associated bottom tool when the stroke frequency increases. To overcome this, a control drive is provided wherein the top tool is held at a substantially constant immersion depth in the opening in the bottom tool over the entire stroke frequency range of the press. A measuring instrument detects the stroke frequency. This detected frequency is fed into a control circuit programmed with a characteristic corresponding to either immersion depth or ram adjustment as a function of stroke frequency. The output of the control circuit is a control signal coupled to a drive motor to maintain the constant immersion depth.

Control drive for a ram adjustment device on a blanking press

A circuit or control arrangement for an adjusting drive of a press ram of a high-speed cutting press which includes top and bottom dies respectively attached to the press ram and a platen of the press with the top die being adapted to dip or penetrate during a cutting process into the bottom die. An arrangement is provided for maintaining the depth of penetration of the upper die means into the lower die means at a constant value in dependence upon an operating condition of the high-speed cutting press. The maintaining arrangement may include at least one limit switch operatively connected with an oscillator stage which provides adjusting signals to the drive motor. In lieu of a limit switch, a cutting force measuring sensor member may be interconnected with an evaluator circuit and the oscillator means so as to control the drive motor.

An automatic numerically controlled slotting or notching press arrangement which includes a multi-armed feed and removing device having a turnstile or turntable which is selectively indexed or rotated so as to convey blanks to various processing stations. The feeding and removing device is adapted to transfer the blanks from at least one stack unloading station to a centering or aligning station, a locating or turning station, a processing station, a stator stacking station, and a rotor stacking station. A numerically controlled indexing unit (a clamping table for blanks to be processed) and a numerically controlled tool changing is provided. The stack unloading station and the rotor stacking station form the first and last processing stations and are linked by a conveying device which operates independently of the turnstile or turntable of the feeding and removing device.

Numerically controlled automatic notching press

A press drive with a central cam shaft actively connected through a connecting rod with a slide guided in a linear guide. Side bars are symmetrically articulated with respect to each other on the slide. Mass balancing weights are driven in opposed directions corresponding to reciprocating masses of the press, with the weights being connected with the slide by other linkages. Pairs of toggle joint linkages are disposed symetrically with respect to the cam shaft. The pairs of toggle joint linkages include a first almost horizontally disposed toggle joint linkage that is articulated on the respective side bars and presents a bearing point on the press frame. A second almost vertically disposed toggle joint linkage that is connected with the first toggle joint linkage and is articulated so as to be guided by the press frame on the mass balancing weight. A third almost vertically disposed toggle joint linkage is articulated on the punch through a transmission bar with the first and second toggle joint linkages and is braced in a direction of motion of the punch on the press frame.

Press drive arrangement

An arrangement for notching or slotting circular blanks so as to produce stacks of rotor and/or stator laminations for electric machines. At least one slotting machine is provided which in a first direction is adjustable radially with respect to a spatially fixed axis of rotation of a blank support table by way of a separate adjusting drive. The support table for the blanks, constructed as an indexing apparatus, may be driven by a numerically controlled adjusting drive. The at least one slotting machine is movable in a second direction at right angles to the first direction by way of a further adjusting drive. The stacks of lamination produced by the punching arrangement may include spiral slots or notches as well as oblique slots or notches enabling the production of special motors having a cone or tapered armature.

Arrangement for punching out circular blanks

An arrangement for feeding, stacking and packaging plate-like members punched by the die of a press of the type wherein the plate-like members are carried away initially vertically and then along a curve away from the vicinity of the press by guideways is formed of dispensers from which connecting material is fed over connecting devices adjacent the guideways into engagement with the punched members. According to preferred embodiments, the connecting material is provided with adhesive on one side, the connecting devices are spring-biased rollers, and a packet height marking mechanism is provided.

Apparatus for stacking and intermittently discharging stacks of sheet material for electrical machines and the like. A plurality of mandrels are provided which are successively movable into a position for forming stacks of sheets continually supplied by a horizontal conveyor. A turntable is provided for moving the mandrels into and out of respective sheet receiving positions. In order to accommodate intermediate stacking of the sheets while mandrels are being exchanged, a mandrel tip is provided which is positionable in alignment with the mandrels when in a sheet receiving position. During normal stacking operations, the mandrel tip is supported at the respective mandrel. During exchange of mandrels clamping jaws hold the mandrel tip in position and a slide member is moved into a position so as to hold an intermediate stack of sheets on the mandrel tip. Once a new empty mandrel has been placed in position under the mandrel tip, the holding jaws and the slide means are moved so as to permit the intermediate stack to fall onto the mandrel to start another stack of sheets.

Apparatus for stacking articles in sheet form for electrical machines

Apparatus for the conveyance of components punched out from a strip of material with the formation of a punched grid out of the working area of a press includes a feeding mechanism for conveying the strip of material into the working area of the press. At least one controllable ejector is arranged in an upper die for ejecting the punched-out components during the return stroke of the upper die onto the strip of material itself which is the conveyor. Lugs are punched into a remaining portion of the strip of material to be processed, behind the punched-out component, these lugs serving to retain the punched-out and dropped-off components on the strip of material.
