A three-dimensional printing system includes a support plate, a transparent sheet, gas pressure source, and a conduit. The support plate includes a transparent central portion and defines a gas inlet and a gas outlet. The transparent sheet overlays the transparent central portion, the gas inlet, and the gas outlet of the support plate. A central chamber is defined between the transparent sheet and the support plate. The gas pressure source is coupled to the gas inlet through the conduit. An input fluid flow resistance Lis defined from the gas pressure source to the central chamber. An output fluid flow resistance Lis defined out through the gas outlet and to an outside location. A ratio of Lto Lis sufficient to allow a stable control of a physical configuration of the central unsupported portion of the transparent sheet above the support plate.

A device for simulating finger movement on a computer touchpad prevents the computer attached to the touchpad from falling asleep or locking. The device includes a small motor that moves a weight inside the device and thereby changes the location of the center of gravity of the device, causing the device to tilt in different directions when the device is placed on the touchpad. The lower support of the device is conductive, e.g., metalized, so that the changes in the location of the contact patch between the device and the touchpad simulate finger movements on the touchpad. The small motor may be an electric motor, such as a wall/desk clock motor powered by an AA battery, or a mechanical wind-up movement. In examples, the simulated finger movement is linear or circular.

A three-dimensional printing system for fabricating a three-dimensional article includes a motorized build platform, a dispensing module, a pulsed light source, an imaging module, a movement mechanism, and a controller. The imaging module receives radiation from the pulsed light source and includes a two-dimensional mirror array. The movement mechanism imparts lateral motion between the imaging module and the build platform. The controller is configured to operate the motorized build platform and the dispensing module to form a layer of build material at a build plane, operate the movement mechanism to laterally scan the imaging module over the build plane, operate the pulsed light source to generate a sequence of radiation pulses that illuminate the mirror array, and operate the mirror array to selectively image the build material.

The build platform is coupled to a vertical positioning apparatus. The light engine is configured to generate and scan a columnar array of light spots across a build plane. In one example, a method for drying a developer unit of a liquid electrophotographic printer. After printing is complete, development voltage biases are applied to the developer unit while a liquid marking agent flows to the developer unit. The liquid marking agent flow to the developer unit is stopped. Drying voltage biases, lower than the development voltage biases, are applied to the developer unit. Idle voltage biases are applied to the developer unit when dry.

An example device, for sealing an ink developer unit in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure includes a rigid plate. The device also includes a first compliant sealing member disposed on a first side of the rigid plate to form a seal between the number of rollers of the ink developer unit and the rigid plate. The device also includes a second compliant sealing member disposed on a second side of the rigid plate to form a seal between the rigid plate and an end cap of the ink developer unit. The first compliant sealing member, the second compliant sealing member, or combinations thereof include a developer roller arm aligned with an interior portion of a developer roller face and to allow ink to contact the developer roller face.

An apparatus for reducing ink droplets generated by bursting bubbles within an ink developer includes a surface directing an ink flow into a channel; and a protrusion within the channel that reduces ink droplets generated by bursting bubbles entrained within the ink flow. An ink developer includes an ink source supplying ink to the ink developer; an electrode which develops a portion of the ink onto a developer roller; and a splash guard which directs an undeveloped ink flow into a channel which has a reduced cross-section area configured to reduce bubbles exiting the channel and bursting.

An ink development unit is disclosed for liquid electro photography (LEP) printers or the like. An exemplary squeegee on PIP (photo imaging plate) (or 'SOP') ink development unit for a liquid electro photography (LEP) printer system includes an ink dispenser configured to dispense ink during a printing operation. A developer roller having a compliant surface is positioned in contact with a PIP during a printing operation. The developer roller directly receives the ink dispensed from the ink dispenser. The developer roller squeegees the ink dispensed from the ink dispenser into an ink layer with higher solids concentration for development onto an image area on the PIP.
