A wall scanner that includes a housing, a plurality of sensors, a display, and a control section. The housing includes a handle portion and a body portion. The handle portion is adapted to receive a removable and rechargeable battery pack such as a high-voltage lithium-ion ('Li-Ion') battery pack. The body portion of the housing encloses the plurality of sensing devices, such as capacitive plate sensors for sensing the presence of a stud behind a surface, a D-coil sensor for identifying the presence of metal behind the surface, and a non-contact voltage sensor. The display is configured to display the location of an object behind the surface in real-time, the depth of an object behind the surface, and whether an object behind the surface is ferrous or non-ferrous. The control section includes actuation devices for controlling the functions and operations of the wall scanner, such as the scanning mode.

Wall scanner

A flexible eddy current probe for non-destructive testing of a metallic object may include one or more plus-point coils and a flexible printed circuit having first and second parallel sides, third and fourth parallel sides, and a number of adjacent strips. The strips have first and second ends that are contiguous with the first and second parallel sides, respectively. Each of the strips may contain a pair of coils oriented along the length of the strip, a first coil being proximate to the first end and a second coil being proximate to the second end, and each of the coils is configured to excite an eddy current in the metal object or to sense an eddy current. Each of the strips may also be independently flexible from one another. The eddy current sensor array is configured to be scanned over the metal object.

Systems, methods, and devices for thermal detection. A thermal detection device includes a visual sensor, a thermal sensor (e.g., a thermopile array), a controller, a user interface, a display, and a removable and rechargeable battery pack. The thermal detection device also includes a plurality of additional software and hardware modules configured to perform or execute various functions and operations of the thermal detection device. An output from the visual sensor and an output from the thermal sensor are combined by the controller or the plurality of additional modules to generate a combined image for display on the display.

Thermal detection systems, methods, and devices

Embodiments of the invention relate to a wall scanner that includes a housing, a plurality of sensors, a display, and a control section. The housing includes a handle portion and a body portion. The handle portion is adapted to receive a removable and rechargeable battery pack such as a high-voltage lithium-ion ('Li-Ion') battery pack. A multi-meter including a current input, a common input, a display, a first current measurement circuit, a second current measurement circuit, and a controller. The controller includes a first input and a second input. The controller operable to receive a first voltage from the first current measurement circuit at the first input, receive a second voltage from the second current measurement circuit at the second input, determine a value for a current being measured based on the first voltage if the first voltage is below a predetermined threshold, determine a value for a current being measured based on the second voltage if the first voltage is above the predetermined threshold, generate an output signal related to the determined value for the current, and provide the output signal to the display.

A handheld thermal imager includes a housing defining a cavity. A lens barrel has a first end portion and a second end portion. The lens barrel is at least partially disposed within the cavity. A lens is coupled to the lens barrel first end portion. A resilient buffer member supports the lens barrel within the cavity. A thermal sensor is coupled to the lens barrel second end portion. A processing module receives signals from the thermal sensor. A display is coupled to the processing module for displaying a temperature characteristic of a scene.

A clamp meter configured to receive a removable and rechargeable battery pack. The clamp meter includes a main body having a first axis, a handle, a clamp, a trigger, and a display. The handle has a second axis and includes a first recess configured to receive the battery pack. The first recess includes at least first and second electrical terminals which are exposed when the battery pack is not inserted into the first recess. The second axis forms an oblique angle with the first axis, and the battery pack is inserted into the first recess along the second axis. The clamp is coupled to the main body, aligned with the first axis, and operable to measure an electrical characteristic of a conductor based on an induced current. The trigger is operable to selectively open and close the clamp, and the display configured to display an indication of the electrical characteristic.

A test and measurement device including a housing, a circuit disposed within the housing, and a display located on the housing. The device includes a first probe and a second probe. Each of the first probe and the second probe includes a probe body, a conductive tip, and a probe wire. Each of the first probe and the second probe is coupled to the housing and in electrical communication with the circuit. The device also includes a first groove that has a first projection and a second projection. The first groove is configured to receive one of the probe bodies, and the projections are configured to retain the one of the probe bodies within the first groove. A second groove is configured to receive the other of the probe bodies.

Clamp meter with detachable clamp and a clamp storage area. The clamp meter includes a clamp and a housing. The clamp includes a measurement end and a handle portion. The measurement end includes a first measurement portion and a second measurement portion. The handle portion includes a first handle and a second handle. The housing includes a recess configured to removably receive the clamp when the clamp is not in use. The housing is connected to the clamp via a cord. When the clamp is received in the recess, the first measurement portion and the second measurement portion are positioned completely within the recess, the first handle and the second handle extend at least partially from the recess, and the recess prevents the clamp from being used. The clamp is capable of being removed from the recess in a one-handed use position.

A combination lighting tester tool. The combination lighting tester tool includes at least three independent testing tools for identifying and diagnosing a problem in a lighting system. For example, the tester includes a lamp testing function in which a high voltage test signal is generated and transmitted using an antenna. When the test signal is in proximity to a gas filled lamp, the voltage is of sufficient magnitude to ionize the gas inside the lamp, causing the lamp to illuminate. The tester also includes a ballast testing function in which the power lines or wires connecting a ballast to a lamp or lighting fixture are tested, and a filament tester for testing the filaments in a lamp for continuity or resistance. The tester also includes a worklight for illuminating an area under test and one or more display devices (e.g., LEDs, an LCD display, or the like) which provide an indication of, for example, a test being performed or a result of a test.
