An integrated receiver drier and economizer (RDE) includes a tank having a hollow interior receiving a first flow of a refrigerant therein, the first flow of the refrigerant including a liquid phase of the refrigerant accumulating within a liquid containing portion of the hollow interior of the tank. An economizer receiving a second flow of the refrigerant through an interior thereof is at least partially submerged in the liquid containing portion of the tank. The economizer forms a heat exchanging structure configured to exchange heat between the first flow of the refrigerant passing over an exterior of the economizer and the second flow of the refrigerant passing through the interior of the economizer. A desiccant is disposed in the liquid containing portion of the tank downstream of the economizer with respect to the first flow of the refrigerant through the hollow interior of the tank.

A thermal management system includes a refrigerant loop including a compressor, a condenser, an expansion element, and a chiller. A first coolant loop of the thermal management system includes the chiller, a first cooling heat exchanger disposed downstream of the chiller, and a distribution valve disposed downstream of the first cooling heat exchanger. A coolant flow path branches from the first coolant loop with the coolant flow path extending from the distribution valve to a re-entry point where the coolant flow path rejoins the first coolant loop at a position downstream of the distribution valve. The coolant flow path includes an electric component, and the distribution valve is configured to control a distribution of the first coolant flowing towards the electric component and the re-entry point.

A thermal control system includes an enclosure configured to contain a thermal mass. A baffle plate is disposed in the enclosure. A heat exchanger is coextensive with and cooperates with the baffle plate to divide the enclosure into a first chamber and a second chamber. An air circulation element cooperates with the baffle plate and the heat exchanger to define an air circulation path and to cause air to flow through the air circulation path. The heat exchanger exchanges thermal energy with the air flowing through the air circulation path.

Provided is a heater core which has a simple structure using a pipe connector formed by coupling a first plate and a second plate, thereby facilely manufacturing it, and also which can have a smaller size, since an inlet pipe and an outlet pipe are disposed to be adjacent to each other.

A heat pump and air conditioning system for a vehicle that has at least one coolant loop selectively connecting an engine cooling system with a heater core, a first coolant/refrigerant heat exchanger, and/or a second coolant/refrigerant heat exchanger, in order to warm a passenger compartment of the vehicle. The system also includes a refrigerant loop that includes a first expansion device between a condenser and evaporator, and a second expansion device between the first coolant/refrigerant heat exchanger and the second coolant/refrigerant heat exchanger. The refrigerant loop provides for cooling of the passenger compartment of the vehicle, as well as operating as a heat pump, together with the at least one coolant loop, to provide heat to the vehicle passenger compartment.
