An electronic device with one or more processors and memory includes a procedure for enabling conversation persistence across two or more instances of a digital assistant. In some embodiments, the device displays a first dialogue in a first instance of a digital assistant user interface. In response to a request to display a user interface different from the digital assistant user interface, the device displays the user interface different from the digital assistant user interface. In response to a request to invoke the digital assistant, the device displays a second instance of the digital assistant user interface, including displaying a second dialogue in the second instance of the digital assistant user interface, where the first dialogue remains available for display in the second instance of the digital assistant user interface.

Device, method, and graphical user interface for enabling conversation persistence across two or more instances of a digital assistant

Systems and processes for reducing response latency of intelligent automated assistants are provided. In one example process, a speech input containing a user request can be received from a user. A representation of the speech input can be transmitted. A domain signal representing a relevant domain associated with the user request can be received. The process can determine whether the relevant domain is associated with a predefined action of a set of predefined actions. In response to determining that the relevant domain is associated with a predefined action of a set of predefined actions, the predefined action can be performed. Data content relevant to satisfying the user request can be received. A result based on the data content can be outputted to at least partially satisfy the user request.

Reducing response latency of intelligent automated assistants

At a first electronic device with a display and a microphone: sampling audio input using the first microphone; in accordance with the sampling of audio input using the first microphone, sending stop instructions to a second electronic device with a second microphone, the second electronic device external to the first electronic device, wherein the second electronic device is configured to respond to audio input received using the second microphone, and wherein the stop instructions instruct the second electronic device to forgo responding to audio input received using the second microphone, wherein responding to audio input received using the second microphone comprises providing perceptible output.

Competing devices responding to voice triggers

At a first electronic device with a display and a microphone, receiving audio input via the microphone, wherein the audio input comprises a request; sending data representing the request to a service; receiving a token from the service, wherein the token permits lookup, from the service, of at least one of: the request, and result responsive to the request; and sending the token to a second electronic device external to the first electronic device.

The invention relates to a method and system for selecting personalized content for a user, the method being performed by an evaluation tool instantiated on a computing device and comprising the evaluation tool. The evaluation tool creates a content selection rule for the user for finding and filtering content items, such as advertising content. The tool generates a content selection algorithm from the content selection rule for determining which content items to present to the user and presents the content item to the user based on the content selection algorithm and allows the user to interact with the presented content item.

The tool also enables the user to view and modify the selection rule and the content selection algorithm.
