An enhanced control, in which a guide line is defined relative to an object in a user interface, items aligned with the guide line are displayed without obscuring the object. A selected item is output based on receiving a selection of one of the displayed items.

A representation of a user can move with respect to a graphical user interface based on input of a user. The graphical user interface comprises a central region and interaction elements disposed outside of the central region. The interaction elements are not shown until the representation of the user is aligned with the central region. A gesture of the user is recognized, and, based on the recognized gesture, the display of the graphical user interface is altered and an application control is outputted.

An object having an outer surface (e.g. a friction-ridge surface of a finger) and internal parts (e.g. tissue layer, papillae, blood vessels, fat, muscle, nail and bone) is scanned by a system having a transmitter, receiver and computer. One such system has a substantially planar piezoelectric transmit-layer, an ultrasonic receiver array having a plurality of receivers, and a platen. The transmit layer is caused to produce an ultrasound plane-wave traveling toward the object residing on the platen. Using the ultrasonic receiver, ultrasonic energy that has been reflected from the object is detected. The detected ultrasonic energy is analyzed to provide an analysis result, and the analysis result is compared to a template. A determination is made as to whether the analysis result and the template are similar, and the object is declared to be alive if the analysis result is determined to be similar to the template.

Embodiments include devices and methods for capturing images of a game by an unmanned autonomous vehicle (UAV). A processor of the UAV may determine game play rules of the game. The processor may predict a game action based on the determined game play rules. The processor may determine a position from which to capture an image of the game based on the predicted game action, and may move the UAV to the determined position to enable the UAV to capture of an image of the game from the determined position.

Methods, apparatus, and computer-readable media are provided for processing image data captured by a first device for display on a second device. For example, a range of predicted orientations of the second device can be determined. A predicted field-of-view of the second device can then be determined. The predicted field-of-view corresponds to the range of predicted orientations of the second device. The predicted field-of-view can be transmitted to the first device. Cropped image data may then be received from the first device, which includes image data cropped to include the predicted field-of-view. An updated orientation of the second device can be determined, and an updated field-of-view within the cropped image data can be determined that corresponds to the updated orientation of the second device.

Methods and systems of reducing latency in communication of image data between devices

A method for use with a head-mounted display in a physical environment includes obtaining depth information of the physical environment and capturing a visual image of the physical environment. The method also includes determining a spatial relationship between a user of the head-mounted display and one or more physical objects included in the physical environment based on the depth information. The visual image is then segmented based on the spatial relationship to generate a segmented image that includes the one or more physical objects. The segmented image is then overlaid on a virtual image to display both the virtual image and the one or more physical objects on the head-mounted display.

A position on the display device that the handheld device is aimed towards is determined based at least on the determined position or angle of the one or more fiducials in the camera image, and an application is controlled based on the determined position on the display device.
