A loudspeaker for hearing devices including a diaphragm arranged in a housing to form a back volume and a front volume acoustically coupled to a sound port is disclosed. A surface of a first magnet in the front volume faces an opposing surface of a second magnet in the back volume, and the opposing surfaces of the magnets are separated by a gap and have the same magnetic polarity. An electrical coil assembly coupled to the diaphragm has a radial difference dimension to thickness dimension ratio greater than 1, wherein the diaphragm and the electrical coil assembly are movable in the gap between the magnets in response to an electrical audio signal applied to the electrical coil assembly.

Loudspeaker for hearing device

A MEMS transducer includes a transducer substrate, a back plate, a diaphragm, and an intermediate layer. The transducer substrate includes an aperture. The back plate is coupled to a first surface of the transducer substrate and covers the aperture. The diaphragm is oriented substantially parallel to the back plate and is spaced apart from the back plate to form a gap. The intermediate layer is coupled to the diaphragm and the back plate and includes an acoustic relief channel, which fluidly couples the gap to an environment surrounding the MEMS transducer.

A hearing instrument includes a first speaker having a first frequency range. The hearing instrument also includes a second speaker that is disposed in the ear of a listener. The second speaker has a second frequency range that is wider than the first frequency range. A microphone unit is coupled to the first speaker and the second speaker. The first speaker creates replacement sounds within the first frequency range that replicate sounds that are lost to the listener as a result of an occlusion effect at the second speaker. The replacement sounds are presented to the listener.

Dynamic driver in hearing instrument

A transducer assembly may include a first transducer having a first front volume, a first back volume and a first port acoustically coupled to the first front volume; and a second transducer having a second front volume, a second back volume and second port acoustically coupled to the second front volume. The first front volume and the second front volume are acoustically coupled to increase the effective back volume of both the first transducer and the second transducer. An optional signal processing circuit may be used to control the output of the first transducer based upon a signal received from the second transducer.

Conjoined receiver and microphone assembly

A transducer suitable for use as a microphone or receiver in a hearing aid has a housing and a diaphragm disposed within the housing. A motor assembly is also disposed within the housing and operatively coupled to the diaphragm. The motor assembly includes a magnet assembly having a magnetic yoke forming a channel and a drive magnet disposed within the channel.
