Systems and methods are provided for determining whether dissimilar device identifiers in a network actually represent the same physical device. A method, according to one implementation, includes obtaining first and second sets of operational parameters related to first and second set of devices operating in a section of a network. The first and second sets of operational parameters include first and second sets of device identifiers representing the first and second sets of devices, respectively. The method also includes comparing the first set of device identifiers with the second set of device identifiers to find non-matching device identifiers. With respect to the non-matching device identifiers, the first and second sets of operational parameters are analyzed to determine if a device identifier of the first set of device identifiers and a device identifier of the second set of device identifiers likely represent the same device.

Counteracting MAC address randomization and spoofing attempts

Systems and methods include obtaining measurements from a Wi-Fi network that includes i) a plurality of access points interconnected to one another and at least one connected to a gateway, and ii) a plurality of Wi-Fi client devices that each connect to an access point of the plurality of access points; learning usage patterns in the Wi-Fi network through analysis with one or more machine learning algorithms; and providing a configuration to the Wi-Fi network based on the learned usage pattern where the configuration includes a topology of the plurality of access points.

Systems and methods include obtaining measurements from a Wi-Fi network that includes one or more access points; determining a configuration of the Wi-Fi network based on the measurements, wherein the configuration includes one or more of i) steering a client device to associate with a specific access point of the one or more access points and ii) steering the client device to connect to a specific frequency band of the one or more access points; and providing the configuration to the Wi-Fi network for implementation thereof.

A method and system for connecting an Internet of Things (IoT) hub to a wireless network. One embodiment of the method includes establishing a secure communication channel between an IoT hub and an IoT service through a client device using a first secret; generating a second secret on the client device and transmitting it to the IoT hub; encrypting a wireless key using the second secret to generate a first-encrypted key and transmitting it to the IoT service; encrypting the first-encrypted key using the first secret to generate a twice-encrypted key and transmitting it to the IoT hub over the secure communication channel; decrypting the twice-encrypted key at the IoT hub using the first secret to generate the first-encrypted key and decrypting it using the second secret to generate the wireless key usable to establish a secure wireless connection between the IoT hub and the local wireless network.

Apparatus and method for sharing WiFi security data in an internet of things (IoT) system

Systems and methods include a cloud controller communicatively coupled to one or more distributed Wi-Fi networks and configured to manage the one or more distributed Wi-Fi networks. In an implementation, an electronic device may obtain a configuration file from a device provider. The configuration file may include settings of a number of communications providers for communicating over a wireless wide area network. A subscriber identification module (SIM) card may include information, such as a communications provider identifier, that is utilized to determine the settings for a modem of the electronic device. Configuring the modem of the electronic device according to the settings may cause the modem to communicate over the wireless wide area network according to specifications of a particular communications provider of the plurality of communications providers.
