A rotary impact tool including a housing, a motor, a gear assembly, and a drive assembly. The motor includes a shaft configured to rotate about an axis. The gear assembly is operably coupled to the motor. The drive assembly is configured to convert continuous torque received from the shaft through the gear assembly into periodic rotational impacts upon a workpiece. The drive assembly includes a camshaft, an anvil, a hammer, and a thrust bearing. The camshaft is operably coupled to the gear assembly. The anvil is positioned adjacent to a forward end of the camshaft. The hammer is configured to reciprocate along the camshaft to impart rotational impacts to the anvil in response to rotation of the camshaft. The thrust bearing is engaged with the camshaft such that the thrust bearing is configured to at least partially support the camshaft in an axial direction.

A power tool includes a first housing portion and a second housing portion, a motor directly mounted between the housing portions with an output shaft defining an axis, and a gear assembly supported within the housing and including a ring gear directly supported by the housing portions, a pinion gear coupled for co-rotation with the output shaft, and planet gears meshed with the pinion gear and the ring gear. The power tool also includes a drive assembly operably coupled to the gear assembly with a camshaft, an anvil, a hammer configured to reciprocate along the camshaft to impart rotational impacts to the anvil, and a spring biasing the hammer towards the anvil. The ring gear includes lugs engaged with the first housing portion and the second housing portion to rotationally constrain the ring gear.

Compact impact tool

An impact tool includes a housing having a motor housing portion and an impact housing portion. The impact housing portion has a front end defining a front end plane. An electric motor is supported in the motor housing, a battery pack is supported by the housing for providing power to the motor, and a drive assembly is supported by the impact housing portion. The drive assembly includes an anvil extending from the front end of the front housing portion with an end defining an anvil end plane. The drive assembly also includes a hammer rotationally and axially movable relative to the anvil for imparting the consecutive rotational impacts upon the anvil, and a spring for biasing the hammer in an axial direction toward the anvil. A distance between the front end plane and the anvil end plane is greater than or equal to 6 inches.

Impact tool

An impact tool includes an electric motor and a housing containing the electric motor, the housing including a battery receptacle. The battery receptacle includes an isolation member configured to selectively and detachably couple to a battery pack to electrically connect the battery pack to the electric motor. The isolation member includes opposed rails configured to be received into sliding engagement with channels formed in the housing. The battery receptacle also includes an elastomeric damper supported within the housing. During operation of the impact tool, the isolation member is configured to translate relative to the housing and impact the elastomeric damper which, in turn, is configured to attenuate the transmission of vibration from the housing to the battery pack.

A rotary impact tool includes a motor housing, an electric motor supported in the motor housing, and a drive assembly for converting a continuous torque input from the motor to consecutive rotational impacts upon a workpiece. The drive assembly includes an anvil including an anvil lug and a hammer that is both rotationally and axially movable relative to the anvil. The hammer includes a hammer lug for imparting the consecutive rotational impacts upon the anvil lug. The rotary impact tool further comprises a printed circuit board assembly including a sensor that is configured to detect rotation of the anvil. The printed circuit board assembly is spaced from the anvil to define an axial gap therebetween.

Rotary impact tool

An impact tool includes a housing including a motor housing portion and a front housing coupled to the motor housing portion, a motor supported within the motor housing portion, a battery pack supported by the housing for providing power to the motor, and a drive assembly supported within the housing and configured to convert continuous torque from the motor to consecutive rotational impacts upon a workpiece capable of developing at least 1,700 ft-lbs of fastening torque. The drive assembly includes a camshaft driven by the motor for rotation about an axis, an anvil extending from the front housing, and a hammer configured to reciprocate along a travel portion of the camshaft between a rearmost position and a forwardmost position to deliver rotational impacts to the anvil in response to rotation of the camshaft.

High torque impact tool

An impact tool includes a housing having a motor housing portion and an impact housing portion, an electric motor supported in the motor housing, a battery pack supported by the housing for providing power to the motor; and a drive assembly supported by the impact housing portion. The drive assembly includes an anvil extending from the impact housing portion, a hammer that is both rotationally and axially movable relative to the anvil for imparting consecutive rotational impacts upon the anvil, and a spring for biasing the hammer in an axial direction toward the anvil. The impact tool further includes a boot covering the impact housing portion, a front retainer arranged on the boot, a plurality of lenses in the front retainer, a plurality of LEDs respectively arranged within one of the lenses, and a rear retainer arranged between the boot and the impact housing portion.

Rotary impact wrench

An impact tool includes a housing extending along a longitudinal axis, the housing including a motor housing portion and a front housing coupled to the motor housing portion, a motor supported within the motor housing portion, and a drive assembly supported within the housing. The drive assembly includes a camshaft driven by the motor for rotation about an axis, an anvil extending from the front housing, and a hammer configured to reciprocate along a travel portion of the camshaft between a rearmost position and a forwardmost position to deliver rotational impacts to the anvil in response to rotation of the camshaft. An axial distance between the forwardmost position and the rearmost position of the hammer is at least 20.75 millimeters, and the travel portion of the camshaft has a diameter of at least 25 millimeters.
