A communication system includes at least one user with which presence information is associated and at least one entity to which presence information associated with the at least one user is provided. The presence information includes a plurality of parts with at least one of the parts including information identifying an application for which said at least one part is intended. The at least one entity has at least one entity application. The at least one entity is arranged to use said information to obtain the at least one part intended for the at least one entity application.

User presence information communication system

This invention relates to a communication system comprising a least one user with which presence information is associated, said presence information comprising a plurality of parts, at least one of said parts comprising information identifying an application for which said at least one part is intended; and at least one entity to which presence information associated with said at least one user is provided, said at least one entity having at least one entity application, said at least one entity being arranged to use said information to obtain the at least one part intended for said at least one entity application.

A computer-implemented apparatus and method for communicating partial notifications relating to a presentity's presence information. The communication may be effected between presence servers and terminals coupled to the presence servers via a network. At least one presentity is identified to which a terminal has requested presence services. A presence document is created, where the presence document includes presence information corresponding to the presentity. The presence information is configured as partial presence information comprising less than a total of the presence information available for the presentity. The presence document having the partial presence information is communicated to the terminal requesting the presence information.

System, apparatus and method for providing partial presence notifications

A method and entity of authorizing in a communication system are disclosed. Method of authorization for a cellular system

According to the present invention a method and an apparatus in a packet-switched network for supplying data packets to receivers (-) belonging to a multicast group are disclosed. The apparatus comprises a routing means () for receiving data packets from a sender () and for buffering data packets the destination address of which is a multicast address of a multicast group. The apparatus further comprises a control means () communicating with the routing means () for determining the addresses of the receivers (-) of the multicast group indicated by the multicast address and receiver-specific parameters, for designating filters for each receiver (-) and/or each determined receiver address in accordance with the receiver-specific parameters and for supplying the determined addresses and designated filters to the routing means (). The routing means () filters the multicast data packets and/or the determined addresses with the designated filters for each receiver (-) of the multicast group and supplies the filtered multicast dam packets to the filtered receiver addresses.

Controlled multicast

A network element for handling network availability information represented as presence information, where the network element includes a receiving unit for receiving status information in a network availability element and a converting unit for converting the status information into a presence information data format. The network element also includes a generating unit for generating a request that includes the presence information data format. For certain status events the network availability includes at least one child. The invention relates to a communication method and system wherein a network element of a roaming user is attachable to a visited first network and may still be served by a serving means of the home network. The network element of the roaming user is able to indicate a preference, e.g. home or local control, when registering or initiating a connection.
