The present invention relates to a lithium secondary battery manufactured by forming a negative electrode free battery and then forming a lithium metal on the negative electrode current collector by charging. In the lithium secondary battery, since lithium metal is formed on the negative electrode current collector in the state of being blocked with the atmosphere, the generation of the conventional surface oxide layer (native layer) formed on the negative electrode does not occur inherently, thereby preventing the reduction of the efficiency and lifetime characteristics of the battery.

Lithium secondary battery

A lithium secondary battery including a positive electrode, a negative electrode comprising a negative electrode current collector, and an electrolyte interposed between the positive electrode and negative electrode. The lithium metal is formed on the negative electrode current collector by lithium ions migrating toward the negative electrode current collector after charge. The electrolyte comprises a sacrificial salt having an oxidation potential of 5 V or less with respect to lithium. The lithium secondary battery forms lithium metal while being blocked from the atmosphere, and thereby improves an existing problem caused by high reactivity of lithium metal. By including a sacrificial salt in an electrolyte, lithium consumption caused by an irreversible reaction of a negative electrode is reduced, which may prevent decline in the battery capacity and lifetime properties.

A lithium secondary battery comprising a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a lithium metal layer, and an electrolyte disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The negative electrode comprises a first protective layer formed on a negative electrode current collector, a second protective layer formed on the first protective layer opposite the negative electrode current collector, and a third protective layer formed inside and on one surface of the second protective layer opposite the first protective layer, and wherein the lithium metal layer is formed between the negative electrode current collector and the first protective layer in the negative electrode when lithium ions migrate from the positive electrode after charging.

A lithium secondary battery including a positive electrode, a negative electrode comprising a negative electrode current collector, and an electrolyte disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode; and a lithium metal layer on the negative electrode current collector in the negative electrode. The electrolyte includes a first electrolyte layer and a second electrolyte disposed on the first electrolyte layer, wherein the first electrolyte layer faces the negative electrode, and the second electrolyte layer faces the positive electrode. A method for manufacturing method a negative electrode for a lithium secondary battery including the steps of forming a metal hydroxide having a three-dimensional structure, forming a metal nitride having a three-dimensional structure by a nitridation reaction of the metal hydroxide of the three-dimensional structure; and transferring the metal nitride having the three-dimensional structure onto a lithium metal layer to form a protective layer. Negative electrode comprising a protective layer for a lithium secondary battery, method for manufacturing same, and lithium secondary battery including same

A lithium electrode and a lithium secondary battery including the same, which includes a first protective layer and a second protective layer sequentially formed on at least one surface of lithium metal layer. The second protective layer contains a cross-linked ion conductive electrolyte in the interior and on the surface of the electrically conductive matrix, and thus the first protective layer has higher ion conductivity than the second protective layer, thereby preventing electrons from being concentrated into lithium dendrites formed from the lithium metal to inhibit the growth of lithium dendrites, and at the same time, physically inhibiting the growth of lithium dendrites by the second protective layer.

Lithium electrode and lithium secondary battery comprising same

A lithium secondary battery, in which, by using different electrolytes in a positive electrode and a negative electrode, and using a gel polymer electrolyte, in which a small amount of an electrolyte liquid is impregnated into a polymer matrix, between the negative electrode and the separator, the stability and performance of the electrode may be improved, and therefore, the performance and lifetime of the lithium secondary battery may be enhanced.

A lithium electrode includes a protective layer containing an ion conductive electrolyte in the interior and on the surface of the electrically conductive matrix. The protective layer may make the electrical conductivity of the surface of the lithium electrode uniform, imparts strength during the growth of lithium dendrites, physically prevents the growth of lithium dendrites, and suppresses the generation of dead lithium.

A lithium secondary battery including a negative electrode in which a negative electrode mixture included in the negative electrode is formed by charge and discharge of the battery. This negative electrode is formed by charge-induced formation of lithium metal on a negative electrode current collector having a three-dimensional structure form. The lithium secondary battery forms lithium metal while being blocked from the atmosphere. Therefore, formation of a surface oxide layer (native oxide layer) on a negative electrode is blocked and a lithium dendrite growth suppressing effect is achieved by forming lithium metal on a negative electrode current collector having a three-dimensional structure form. The lithium secondary battery has a superior battery efficiency and reduces declines in lifetime properties.

A lithium secondary battery including a negative electrode, a positive electrode, a first electrolyte layer facing the negative electrode; and a second electrolyte layer present on the first electrolyte layer, wherein the first electrolyte layer has a higher ion conductivity than the second electrolyte layer, and a lithium secondary battery comprising the electrolyte described above.

A method for manufacturing an electrode for an all solid battery including the steps of coating a current collector with a slurry including an active material, a conductive material, and a polyimide-based binder; and melting a solid electrolyte having a melting temperature of 50&#xb0; C. to 500&#xb0; C. and applying it onto the coating layer and an electrode manufactured therefrom.

A polymer for an electrode protective layer including a polymer (A) including a fluorine-based polymer in which a monomer unit including poly(alkylene oxide) and a monomer unit including a curable functional group (e.g., a thermocurable functional group or a photocurable functional group) are grafted on the fluorine-based polymer, and when preparing an electrode by coating an electrode active material layer using the polymer and curing (e.g., thermally curing or photocuring) the result, excellent lithium ion conductivity is obtained since lithium ion flow is not inhibited, chemical resistance for an electrolyte liquid is high, and voltage stability of a secondary battery may be enhanced by suppressing side reactions with the electrolyte liquid occurring on an electrode active material surface due to properties of a uniform and flexible protective layer.
