Disclosed is a display device including a display panel, a voltage generator, a current detector, and a current controller. The display panel includes a pixel for receiving a driving voltage. The voltage generator generates the driving voltage, determines a voltage level of the driving voltage based on a voltage control signal, and performs a protection operation in response to a protection signal. The current detector detects a driving current of the display panel and outputs a current signal corresponding to the detected driving current. The current controller includes a current comparison unit that generates a result signal by comparing a present current level of the current signal from the current detector to a previous current level and a protection operating unit that receives the result signal and outputs the protection signal based on a change in the load and a difference between the target current and the current signal.

A display apparatus includes: a display panel including: a gate line; a data line; and a pixel electrically connected to the gate line and the data line, and to display a normal image and a compensation image; a gate driver to output a gate signal to the gate line; a data driver to output a data voltage to the data line; and a power voltage generator to vary a level of a gate power voltage based on a compensation duty ratio corresponding to a ratio between a display duration of the normal image and a display duration of the compensation image.

A voltage of the first converted voltage curve with respect to a peak grayscale is equal to a voltage of the first reference voltage curve with respect to the converted peak grayscale.

A screen saver controller includes a temperature calculator, a temperature comparator, an operator, and a screen saver data generator. The temperature calculator calculates temperature data of a display panel based on input image data. The temperature comparator receives the temperature data and a target temperature and compares a temperature of the display panel with the target temperature to generate temperature change data. The operator receives the temperature data and the temperature change data and generates operation data based on the temperature data and the temperature change data. The screen saver data generator receives the operation data and generates screen saver data based on the operation data. The screen saver controller adjusts a luminance of the display panel based on the screen saver data when operating in a first mode.

A driving controller includes: a logo determiner configured to determine whether or not input image data includes a logo; a logo grayscale value calculator configured to calculate a logo grayscale value of a logo area corresponding to the logo in response to the input image data including the logo; a light emitting element life expectancy determiner configured to determine a life expectancy of a light emitting element corresponding to the logo area; a compensation reference grayscale value generator configured to determine a compensation reference grayscale value according to the life expectancy of the light emitting element corresponding to the logo area; and a logo luminance compensator configured to compare the logo grayscale value to the compensation reference grayscale value to determine whether or not to compensate a luminance of the logo area.

A display device includes a display panel which displays an image, a current compensator and a panel driver. The current compensator calculates a load based on input image data and compensates the input image data to output compensation image data having a target current corresponding to the load. The panel driver drives the display panel based on the compensation image data. The current compensator calculates the load for the input image data based on a combination of load weights calculated by different variables.

A driving controller set includes a net power control setter, a data clamper, a data line, and a data driver. The net power control setter may determine a first scale factor for adjusting a grayscale value of (N+1)-th frame data based on a load of N-th frame data and a net power control reference value.
