Disclosed is an airbag device which varies and deploys a shape of an airbag cushion according to an attitude of a seat and a posture of a passenger to safely protect the passenger. In particular, the airbag device includes: a first tether of which one end is connected to an airbag housing, a second tether which includes a first portion connected between the other end of the first tether and a front surface of the airbag cushion, and a second portion connected between the other end of the first tether and the airbag housing to have a margin length, and a tether cutter provided to cut the first tether and configured to perform one deployment mode of a first deployment mode and a second deployment mode according to whether first tether is cut.

Airbag device and control method thereof

An airbag apparatus includes an airbag cushion including a sub-vent hole, an opening/closing panel temporarily attached to the airbag cushion, and a tether including one end portion fixed to the airbag cushion and the other end portion fixed to the opening/closing panel, in which tension applied to the tether by a force for inflating the airbag cushion allows the tether to pull the opening/closing panel toward the sub-vent hole to close the sub-vent hole, and additional tension applied to the tether by an additional force loaded onto the airbag cushion allows the tether to additionally pull the opening/closing panel and separate the opening/closing panel in a detachably attached state from the airbag cushion to open the sub-vent hole.

Airbag device

An airbag system for a vehicle is provided. The system includes an airbag cushion that is deployed from the upper portion of a seatback to cover the head of an occupant, thereby absorbing impacts applied to the head of the occupant and preventing neck bending attributable to movement of the head of the occupant. In addition, injury to the occupant is minimized by variably adjusting the deployment timing of the airbag cushion depending on the collision direction of the vehicle.

Passenger air bag apparatus for vehicle

An airbag cushion for vehicles includes a cushion body, vent holes, tubes and a tether. The vent holes are formed in the cushion body at opposite positions. The tubes are connected to the respective vent holes. The tubes are deployed out of the vent holes by deployment of the cushion body so that gas is discharged out of the cushion body through the tubes. The tether connects the tubes to each other and is severed when pressure in the cushion body reaches a predetermined degree. At the point of time at which the weight of the occupant is applied to the airbag cushion, the pressure in the airbag cushion is released, thus reducing the risk of the deployment of the airbag cushion injuring the occupant.

Airbag cushion for vehicles

A knee protection device for a vehicle includes a lower crash pad, a mounting unit and an inflation limit unit. The lower crash pad has an internal space communicating with an inflator and a rear surface formed to be folded by a plurality of creases. The lower crash pad is mounted to the lower end of an upper crash pad, and is inflated forwards while the rear surface is smoothed out in the explosion of the inflator, thus protecting a passenger's knees. The mounting unit is provided on the rear surface of the lower crash pad and coupled to a vehicle body. The inflation limit unit is connected between the front and rear surfaces of the lower crash pad, and limits the forward moving distance of the front surface from the rear surface when the lower crash pad inflates.
