A video device for determining whether a digital broadcasting channel through a point of deployment (POD) is reproduced, includes a memory; a communicator to communicate with the POD; a controller which stores a first copy control information (CCI) value with respect to a first digital broadcasting channel in the memory, if converting the first digital broadcasting channel into an analog broadcasting channel, and sets the first CCI value stored in the memory to a second CCI value with respect to a second digital broadcasting channel if the second CCI value is not received through the communicator from the POD and if converting the analog broadcasting channel into the second digital broadcasting channel.

The present invention relates to a video processing apparatus that includes: a signal receiver receiving an encrypted video signal which contains access rights information of a transmitting side and decryption information; an information extractor extracting the access rights information of the transmitting side and the decryption information from the video signal; an encryption processor decrypting the encrypted video signal based on the decryption information; an access rights information storage unit storing access rights information of a receiving side; and a controller sending the decryption information to the encryption processor if it is determined that the access rights information of the transmitting side matches the access rights information of the receiving side. Accordingly, the video processing apparatus and method processes access rights with respect to a video signal that is granted only to an authorized user, with a high degree of reliability.

The image reproducing apparatus includes an identification (ID) detector for detecting the ID of a broadcast information card when a broadcast information card is mounted, a comparing unit for comparing the ID of the broadcast information card detected by the detector with the ID of a existing broadcast information card, the ID being received from a broadcast station and stored in a storage unit, a deleting unit for deleting an existing first channel map when the ID of the detected broadcast information card is different from the ID of the existing broadcast information card, and a receiving unit for receiving data including a new second channel map from the broadcast station in place of the first channel map deleted by the deleting unit. Accordingly, accurate update conditions are proposed, thereby enhancing user convenience and increasing accuracy.
