A method and system for measuring a urinary flow rate minimizes impact noise caused by urine to measure the urinary flow rate using a plurality of load cells when prostatic hypertrophy is diagnosed. The method includes measuring an amount of urine collected into a container using a plurality of load cells, extracting and averaging urinary flow rate signals from the measured results, and removing the impact noise from the urinary flow rate signals, converting the urinary flow rate signals into digital signals through an A/D converting circuit, and outputting the digital signals using a personal computer or a microprocessor analyzer which is interfaced with the A/D converting circuit.

Method and system for measuring urinary flow rate

A CPAP device includes an air stream generator for generating positive pressure, a face mask connected to the air stream generator through a flow supply catheter, a pressure sensor measuring pressure in the face mask, a control circuit controlling the air stream generator, and a pressure detection pipe having a first side and a second side. The pressure sensor is connected to the second side of the pressure detection pipe to measure pressure of the detection hole formed at the first side of the pressure detection pipe and outputs the measured pressure value to the control circuit. The control circuit distinguishes average positive pressure from pressure caused by spontaneous breathing of patient according to values of the pressure in the face mask, which are input from the pressure sensor, and controls a speed of the air stream generator such that preset positive pressure is supplied to the patient.

A method and system is provided for monitoring a respiratory signal by radio. The method includes the steps of: converting a change in electric resistance, which is caused by a change in abdominal circumference measured through a rubber waistband that is made of conductive rubber and is mounted on a lower garment of a testee during respiration, into a voltage signal, performing A/D conversion on the voltage signal, and transmitting the converted digital signal to a short distance by radio using a wireless communication protocol for ZigBee; and receiving the respiratory signal transmitted by radio, transmitting it to a computer unit by wire through an RS-232 port that is a serial communication port, and enabling a tester to monitor the respiratory signal through a screen.

The object of this invention is to provide a safe lancet disposer which prevents a lancet, having been used for blood collection, from being reused, thus preventing secondary infection and cross infection. The safe lancet disposer () of the present invention includes a cutting unit () which cuts an end of a needle of a lancet, a receiving unit () which is disposed under the cutting unit () to receive therein the cut end of the needle, and an operating unit () which is rotatably mounted to the receiving unit () and operates the cutting unit (). Disclosed herein is a vacuum assisted auto-lancing device. The device includes a housing () having a body () which has a lever hole. An actuating lever () includes an actuating switch () seated on the lever hole and having first and second actuating steps, a switch cap (), and a switch cover (). The device also includes a holding unit () having a first stem (), a second stem (), and a stem cap (). A trigger () has a first trigger unit activated by the first actuating step, and a second trigger unit activated by the second actuating step. A lancet holder () holding a lancet () is secured to an end of the first trigger unit. The device includes a blood collecting unit () having an adjusting screw, an adjusting slider, and an end cap, and a vacuum unit () having a plunger and a body cap.

Disclosed herein is a peak expiratory flow meter capable of measuring continuous expiratory flow. The peak expiratory flow meter includes a lower casing unit (), an air expansion unit () and an upper casing unit (). The lower casing unit () includes a first body () having an open top and open opposite sides and having a first end in which a first expiratory flow entrance () is formed, a plurality of rails (), and a movable plate (). Peak expiratory flow meter capable of measuring continuous expiratory flow signal

Disclosed herein is a method of measuring an absolute lung volume. In the method, concentrations of oxygen and carbon dioxide gases are measured and analyzed in respiratory gas, consisting of nitrogen (N), oxygen (O), and carbon dioxide (CO), to indirectly measure a concentration of nitrogen, thereby achieving measurement of absolute lung volume, such as a functional residual capacity. The method comprises connecting a one-way valve to a subject so as to separate an inspiration path from an expiration path, measuring a flow rate of respiratory gas using a flow sensor, which is provided in the expiration path, continuously measuring a concentration (F) of oxygen and a concentration (F) of carbon dioxide using Oand COsensors provided in the expiration path, correcting dynamic characteristics of the concentration (F) of oxygen and the concentration (F) of carbon dioxide so that the dynamic characteristics agree with each other in terms of time, and analyzing oxygen and carbon dioxide gases using the following Equation

A pressure-dependent automatic leak valve for sphygmomanometers is able to regularly reduce the pressure in a cuff without manipulation of a pressure reducing valve. Fluid resistance of air to be discharged through the pressure-dependent automatic leak valve is automatically changed so that air is discharged at a constant rate, and the pressure in the cuff is reduced at a constant speed.

The linear displacement transducer with improved accuracy, in which the displacement of an object is measured depending on resistance values measured on contacts in contact with a thin film A having a zero electrical resistance value and a thin film B having an electrical resistance value Rand being parallel to the thin film A, includes a conductive rotating roller connected to one end of a moving shaft, adapted to rotate in conjunction with the movement of the object and configured to form linear contacts while being in contact with the thin films A and B, and the average of electrical resistance values, which are generated by the linear contacts formed by the rotation of the rotating roller, is measured as displacement.

Linear displacement transducer with improved accuracy

Disclosed is a screen-type spirometer having an improved pneumotachometer, which has a simple structure and a low manufacturing cost and is convenient to use. According to the present invention, the pneumotachometer includes a hollow housing having an annularly shaped ring and a first respiratory tube integrally formed with the annularly shaped ring. The first respiratory tube can be inserted into a mouth of a person to be examined. The pneumotachometer also includes a second respiratory tube which can be engaged with the housing and be inserted into the mouth of the person. The first and the second respiratory tubes have a tapered portion, which is inclined at 10 degrees, respectively in order to stabilize a fluid flow of respiratory gases passing therethrough. O-shaped first and second sensing units for sensing a differential pressure of the respiratory gases passing through the pneumotachometer are disposed within the housing. A circularly shaped screen operating as a mechanical resistance against the respiratory gases is disposed between the first sensing unit and the second sensing unit within the housing. Prepherably, a suitable size for the screen has been found to be in the range of a screen having a mesh of 300 openings per inch. The pneumotachometer comprises a blowing apparatus for drying and cleaning the screen at need. The blowing apparatus is provided as an individual unit. A handle is attached to an outer surface of the annularly shaped ring.
