An image scanning apparatus includes a scanning unit configured to scan an original document and generate a scanned image, a storage unit configured to store the generated scanned image, an image processor including a plurality of image processing modules, the plurality of image processing modules separately including a plurality of buffers configured to store the scanned image of block units, and configured to read the generated scanned image in preset block units and perform image processing on the scanned image read in block units sequentially using the plurality of image processing modules, and a controller configured to store the image-processed scanned image in the storage unit.

Image scanning apparatus, image compensation method and computer-readable recording medium

An image processing apparatus and an image processing method that reduce data transmission time by transmitting data between internal memories of a codec without passing through a system memory. Reducing the number of accesses to the system memory increases processing speed, and reduces the load of a main processor, when image data is to be encoded or decoded. The apparatus includes: an image processor processing sensing data input from various sensors and generating image data; a first codec encoding or decoding the image data using a first encoding method and generating encoded data or decoded data; a second codec encoding or decoding the image data using a second encoding method and generating encoded data or decoded data; a system memory storing the image data, the encoded data, and the decoded data; a main processor controlling the other components; and a router through which the image data is transmitted to the first codec or the second codec to encode the data, or through which the encoded data is transmitted between the first codec and the second codec.

Image processing apparatus and method of using the same

A high-speed binary image compression method, the method including calculating an estimation value of a current pixel based on a context value derived from neighboring pixels of the current pixel, determining whether a pixel value of the current pixel, the context value of the current pixel, and the estimation value of the current pixel are identical to one another, and determining whether the current pixel is a continuous pixel having a pixel value that is continuously identical to previous pixels input prior to the current pixel, determining whether the previous pixels are continuous pixels, if the current pixel is determined not to be continuous with the previous pixels, and coding the continuous pixels using a block unit having more than one pixel if the previous pixels are determined to be the continuous pixels, and determining block by block whether pixels input after the current pixel are continuous pixels if the current pixel is a continuous pixel, and coding the continuous pixels block by block. The method can enhance a coding speed by detecting and coding blocks each having continuous and identical pixel values in a binary image by the block unit.

High-speed binary image compression method

The nozzle error correction method is provided for adjusting information of an output image to correct an error nozzle. A position of an error nozzle firing an ink amount different from a reference value is detected from a plurality of nozzles. A determination is made from an input image as to whether a current pixel for output is an error pixel of the detected error nozzle. A channel value of the error nozzle is set to a certain value if the current pixel is the error pixel. However, if the current pixel is not the error pixel, a determination is made as to whether an error pixel exists in a certain area around the current pixel. A value of the current pixel is then adjusted based on error information. Image-processing is performed in order for the current pixel to be outputted, if the error pixel exists in the certain area. Accordingly, degradation of a print speed and a shortened life span of the head are prevented.

Nozzle error correction method and image-forming apparatus using the same

A multiplication apparatus including a multiplier and multiplicand extractor for dividing the multiplicand into partial multiplicands and dividing the multiplier into partial multipliers, and for generating partial input pairs by combining the partial multiplicands with the partial multipliers, and a multiplication executor including identical partial multiplication modules for receiving the partial input pairs and outputting partial carries and partial products. The apparatus further includes an output generator for combining the partial carries with the partial products according to the execution instruction to generate a final output. For simple multiplications, each of the partial multiplication modules can pass data to and from an adjacent partial multiplication module to calculate the partial carry and the partial product, and pass bits exceeding its own multiplication coverage.
