A tooth for a cutter head includes a tooth body portion for connecting to an adapter; and a pick point portion comprising an end portion with a substantially planar surface, sides extending in an outward direction from the end portion to the tooth body, and a front and/or back with curvature which expands in thickness from the end portion to the tooth body portion. The tooth body portion and the pick point portion have a rounded cross-section comprising a central beam with a bottom base extending perpendicular from the beam at a lower end of the beam and a top shoulder on an upper end of the beam.

Snail tooth

A tooth system for a cutter head includes a tooth member comprising a cutting portion and a mounting portion with at least one curved surface, a holder comprising a receiving portion with a curved surface complementary to the at least one curved surface of the tooth member, the receiving portion for receiving the mounting portion of the tooth member. The mounting portion of the tooth member detachably engages the holder such that when engaged, the at least one curved surface of the tooth member and the receiving portion curved surface contact each other at a contact area.

Adapter system for cutting tooth

A tooth with a retaining system for retaining the tooth in a receiving portion of an adapter in a cutting system comprises a first holding system to releasably retain the tooth to the adapter; and a second holding system to tension and secure the tooth with respect to the adapter.
