The invention provides seed and plants of tomato comprising transgenic event Del/Ros1-N and progeny thereof comprising this transgenic event and uses of such seeds and plants in the production of tomato fruit and food products made tomato fruit. The invention thus relates to non-hybrid and hybrid plants, seeds, and tissue cultures of tomato comprising transgenic event Del/Ros1-N, and to methods for producing a tomato plant produced by crossing such plants with themselves or with another tomato plant, such as a plant of another genotype. The invention further relates to seeds and plants produced by such crossing. The invention further relates to parts of such plants, including the fruit and gametes of such plants.

Tomato plants comprising transgenic event Del/Ros1-N

The invention provides methods, compositions and transformation systems for modifying the levels of transcription factors in plants such asplants, and introducing disease resistance genes into plants, to produce products with elevated levels of antioxidant compounds, including but not limited to flavonols and chlorogenic acid, as well as exhibiting enhanced disease resistance, and optionally altered appearance. Preferred plants are those in which introduced genes are fromspecies.

Methods and compositions for modifying plant flavonoid composition and disease resistance

Methods are provided for making a citrus plant that is capable of producing fruit with increased levels of anthocyanins in the fruit when compared to a citrus fruit from a wild-type or control plant. Such methods involve increasing the expression of Ruby, an R2R3 Myb transcription factor, in a citrus plant, particularly in the fruit of a citrus plant. Further provided are citrus plants, citrus fruit, and citrus plant cells made by such methods, nucleic acid molecules and expression cassettes comprising nucleotide sequences that encode Ruby, and the Ruby proteins encoded thereby.
