Flangeless pipe joint

A toggle clamp is fitted with opposed pipe flange engaging jaws and provides a rapid means of alignment and positioning of flanged pipe during assembly; particularly suited for use with split 'V' clamp joints.

Method for the extrusion of tetrafluoroethylene polymer tubes

Tetrafluoroethylene polymer tubes suitable for the preparation of lined pipe are prepared by ram extrusion wherein the tube is extruded above the sinter temperature and cooled below its crystalline melting point while radially unsupported to provide a tube of improved dimensional stability under thermal cycling.

Tetrafluoroethylene polymer tubes are ram extruded. Desirable quality tubes are obtained by controlling the back pressure on the mandrel as the ram forces polymer to be fabricated into the barrel of the extruder.

Tetrafluoroethylene polymer is downwardly extruded employing variable counterweight to provide tube of improved physical properties.

Method for the take-away of vertically extruded synthetic resinous tubes

Polytetrafluoroethylene tubes are prepared by isostatic molding of polytetrafluoroethylene powder over a cylindrical mandral at a temperature below about 19.degree. C. The compacted preform and mandrel are then warmed to a temperature above about 19.degree. C. and the preform removed from the mandrel. Sticking of the preform to the mandrel is avoided.
