A file sharing service having an aliasing service for use with a file sharing program is disclosed. The aliasing service receives a file sharing invitation from a file sender account of the file sharing program. The file sharing invitation is addressed to a first contact channel of a set of contact channels. A second contact channel is determined from the set of contact channels based on the file sharing account. The file sharing invitation is sent to the second contact channel, in which the first contact channel is different than the second contact channel.

File sharing aliasing service

A browser on a client device is navigated to a hosting computing system that hosts a service that provides access to documents. The browser is navigated to a particular document, to access the document. The document is displayed by the browser. A link to the document is displayed in an address bar generated by the browser, along with a graphical element indicative of the sharing attributes corresponding to the link.

A computing system configured to provide access to electronic content is provided. The computing system includes a processor and memory coupled to the processor containing instructions that when executed provide a user interface component and a link generation component. A data store is coupled to the processor and configured to store the electronic content. The user interface component is configured to receive user input requesting creation of a sharing link relative to selected electronic content stored in the data store. The user interface component is further configured to receive an indication that endpoint verification will be required for the sharing link. The link generation component is configured to responsively generate and provide a pseudo-anonymous sharing link relative to the selected electronic content.

Trackable sharable links

Examples described herein generally relate to detecting publication of private links. A list of one or more links created for providing remote access to one or more files can be obtained, where the one or more links can be of a universal resource locator (URL) format. A web search for at least a portion of the URL format of the one or more links can be performed. Results of the web search can be analyzed to determine whether at least the portion of the URL format of the one or more links is located. Where at least the portion of the URL format of the one or more links is located in the web search, a report indicating that the one or more links are located in the web search can be generated and/or the one or more links can be at least temporarily deactivated.

Techniques for detecting publishing of a private link

A computing system includes a processor and a data store coupled to the processor. The computing system provides access to electronic content stored in the data store. A user interface component receives an indication of an external user with which to share an item of electronic content. A link generation component is generates a link to share the item of electronic content. An access control component receives a request from a requestor to access the item of electronic content using the link, and responsively verify an identity of a requestor. The user interface component provides access to the item of electronic content to the requestor if the identity was verified and receives a user input indicative of an external account binding request. The access control component determines if the requestor has authenticated with the external account and selectively binds the link to the external account if the user authenticates with the external account.

Transfer of secure external sharing link

A computing system includes a processor and memory storing instructions executable by the at least one processor. The instructions, when executed, provide a user interface component that receives an indication of an external user with which to share an item of electronic content, a link generation component that generates a link to share the item of electronic content and identifies a communication endpoint associated with the external user, and an access control component that receives a request to access the item of electronic content using the link and, in response to the request, generates an access code that is communicated to the communication endpoint associated with the external user. The user interface component receives an access input, and the access control component grants access to the item of electronic content based on a determination that the access input includes the access code communicated to the communication endpoint associated with the external user.

External sharing with improved security

Systems and methods for generating and handling tokenized links pointing to web-accessible files are provided herein. The tokenized link obscures the filepath of the file and is associated with a permission scope that consists of a set of criteria for evaluating conditions for access to the file. The link may be freely shared and still provide access restrictions within a domain to the linked file without needing to modify the permissions for the file itself. A user with access to the file may thus freely share the link with other users, who may in turn share the link with yet other users, and be assured that only authorized users will gain access to the file. The tokenized links thereby improve the security of the files, the user experience of the distributing and receiving users, and the functionality of the devices using the tokenized links.

Tokenized links with granular permissions

A computing system is configured to provide access to electronic content. The computing system includes a processor, a data store, an access control system, and a user interface component. The data store is coupled to the processor and is configured to store the electronic content. The access control system control system is configured to selectively allow a requestor to access the electronic content based on a stored metadata setting that is associated with the link. The user interface component is configured to receive a setting change related to a share associated with the link and to persist metadata associated with the setting change.

Persistent mutable sharing of electronic content

A computing system configured to provide access to electronic content includes a processor, a data store, a user interface component, a link generation component, and an access control component. The data store is coupled to the processor and is configured to store the electronic content. The user interface component is configured to receive an indication of an external organization of users with which to share a selected an electronic resource. The link generation component is configured to generate a link to the electronic resource based on the indication of the external organization. The access control component is configured to receive a request via the link to access the electronic resource and to selectively allow access based on whether the requestor is a member of the external organization.

Organizational external sharing of electronic data

Systems and methods for providing actions for users of a computer device from a lock screen interface are provided. A computing device may comprise a touch-sensitive display screen that may allow a user to scroll through a set of user interfaces that may comprise a set of lock screen interfaces&#x2014;one of which may be associated with the user, if authorized for using the computing device. The computing device may allow the user to scroll to one of the following: a set of locked screen interfaces, a set of sign-in interfaces, a set of applications allowed for use (e.g., a camera) by the computer device (even if the user is not signed-in) and a new mode of functionality for computing device (e.g., a children's entertainment application). The computer system may allow swiping from multiple discernible directions to allow the scrolling through user interfaces in a natural manner.

Systems and methods for performing actions for users from a locked device

When initiating a communication session, a user may be faced with the challenge of deciding which communication mode to use to contact and/or share content with one or more other users intended for participation in the communication session. A communication application may be configured to provide a relevant communication mode selection, the communication application including selection and communication modules. For example, the selection module of the communication application may determine available communication modes in response to detection of a request to initiate a communication session from within an application or from a user experience provided by the communication application. The selection module may remove one or more unused communication modes, and prioritize the remaining available communication modes to select a communication mode. A communication module of the communication application may then automatically initiate the communication session through the selected communication mode.

Relevant communication mode selection

A user may store content in a data store that includes multiple repositories corresponding to one or more categories, where each of the repositories may include one or more containers for content storage. An inference application may be configured to automatically save the content to a location within the one or more containers of the repository. For example, the inference application may be configured to detect content to be saved for a user. The inference application may analyze one or more attributes of the user and the content to infer a repository category to which the content is related, and determine a confidence level associated with the inferred repository category. In response to a determination that the confidence level is above a threshold, the content may be automatically saved to a determined location within one or more containers of a repository corresponding to the inferred repository category.

Context based inference of save location

Described is processing a manifest associated with a software component (such as for installation purposes) to determine whether the manifest has errors, and if so, providing a corrected manifest. To process the manifest, an identifier associated with the manifest is used to consult a correction data store to determine whether the manifest is known to require correction. The identifier may be generated via a hash (e.g., of the manifest contents) if one is not appropriately associated with the manifest. If the manifest is known to require correction, a corrected manifest is used, such as from a substitute corrected manifest, or a set of deltas that modify the manifest into the corrected manifest. The substitute manifest or deltas may be in the data store or obtained via a link. A corrected manifest may also be provided by evaluating the manifest for rule violations, and fixing any rule violations that are found.
