A prosthesis for the replacement of at least a portion of the bone of a facet located on a mammalian vertebra, comprising: an articulating surface that articulates with another facet; a bone contacting surface that contacts a surface of the vertebra, the articulating surface being connected to the bone contacting surface; and a fixation element that attaches the bone contacting surface to the vertebra, the fixation element being adapted for implantation into an interior bone space of a pedicle of the vertebra; wherein the prosthesis is configured so that no portion of the prosthesis contacts the posterior arch of the vertebra.

Facet joint replacement

A system for securing a graft ligament in a bone tunnel, a flexible member for positioning the graft ligament in the bone tunnel, the flexible member having a first closed loop at a first end thereof and a second closed loop at a second end thereof, a delivery device having an end for positioning the first and second loops of the flexible member in the bone tunnel, and a pulling member having an end for withdrawing a selected one of the ends of the flexible member from the delivery device when the delivery device is positioned in the bone tunnel, and for pulling the selected end of the flexible member through a portion of a second bone tunnel which intersects, and extends traverse to, the first-mentioned bone tunnel.

Apparatus and method for reconstructing a ligament

A crosspin for supporting a graft ligament in a first bone tunnel formed in a bone. The crosspin is positioned in a second bone tunnel extending transverse to, and intersecting, the first bone tunnel. The crosspin is adapted to be drawn through the second bone tunnel by a flexible member attached to a distal portion of the cross pin. The crosspin includes a connector for releasably connecting the distal portion of the crosspin to an intermediate portion, such that the distal portion is separable from said intermediate portion.

Apparatus and method for reconstructing a ligament.

A system is disclosed for securing a graft ligament in a bone tunnel, the system comprising: a flexible member for positioning the graft ligament in the bone tunnel; a flexible member delivery device comprising a suture holder for positioning the two ends of the flexible member in the bone tunnel, the suture holder comprising a pair of hooks on a distal end of the device and protruding therefrom, each of the hooks being configured to receive and retain a closed loop on an end of the flexible member; and a pulling member having a hook-shaped end configured for engaging and withdrawing one end of the flexible member from the delivery device positioned in the bone tunnel and pulling that end of the flexible member through a portion of a second bone tunnel which intersects, and extends traverse to, the first-mentioned bone tunnel.
