A cup holder assembly formed as part of a vehicle arm rest. The cup holder includes a slidable drawer mounted to a frame for movement between an extended position and a retracted position. A retaining arm is supported by the drawer and biased to pivot about a vertical axis between a use position and a stored position. The retaining arm has a retaining ring on one end which defines a container receiving aperture. The ring also includes a downwardly extending offset which is adapted to receive the handle of a container. The drawer additionally has an indentation defined in a lateral side edge and the indentation is located so as to correspond with and receive the offset when the retaining arm is in its stored position.

Automotive cup holder

A security shade for the cargo area of a motor vehicle. The security shade includes a flexible shade panel mounted to a roller tube having at least one support subassembly mounted to its ends. The subassembly further includes a housing and a coupling portion which couples the housing to the roller tube, a rotational biasing spring which rotationally biases the coupling portion relative to said housing and a mechanism for mounting the security shade within the vehicle.

Security shade with a motor spring subassembly

A roller shade assembly for motor vehicle applications. For covering an interior compartment area of a motor vehicle. The assembly of this invention is mounted in such a manner that the flexible shade panel is extended in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, or in the 'cross-body' direction. This orientation eliminates the requirement that the roller tube assembly be removable from the vehicle to avoid obstructing the cargo compartment when large items are placed in it or when the cargo compartment is enlarged by folding forward a rear seat back. The configuration further enables the shade to be extended and retracted either from the rear vehicle cargo door or from within the vehicle.

Cross body motor vehicle security shade

A glide apparatus for an assembly, such as a vehicle interior accessory, includes a first member disposed for slidable relative movement with respect to a second member. The first member has a longitudinally-extending, generally channel-shaped portion defined a base and a pair of spaced-apart legs protruding laterally outwardly from the base. A glide member preferably includes a number of serially-arranged arcuate slide portions at least partially fixed relative to a backing plate and curving laterally outwardly from the backing plate for relative slidable engagement with at least one, or both, of the legs on the channel-shaped portion of the first member. Preferably, a number of second arcuate slide portions are at least partially fixed relative to the backing plate and curve laterally outwardly from the backing plate for relative slidable engagement with the base of the channel-shaped portion of the first member. At least the second arcuate slide portions, which are adapted for slidable engagement with the base of the channel-shaped portion, are laterally resilient in order to resiliently bias the first member in a lateral direction away from the second member, and preferably have generally arcuate shaped convex protrusions positioned for engaging the channel base substantially in a 'point-contact' engagement therewith.
