Adhesive compositions and articles that contain these adhesive compositions are described. More particularly, the adhesive compositions include (a) a block copolymer prepared from monoethylenically unsaturated monomers and (b) a tackifier mixture. The adhesives compositions can be adhered to many substrates including those having a non-polar surface.

Adhesive compositions with multiple tackifiers

A pressure sensitive adhesive composition comprising a 2-octyl (meth)acrylate/(meth)acrylic acid copolymer is described. The adhesive composition may be derived from renewable resources and provides good peel, shear and high temperature stability.

2-octyl (meth)acrylate adhesive composition

An adhesive composition comprising an emulsion polymer which comprises a (meth)acrylate copolymer and silica nanoparticles is described. The addition of the nanoparticles results in a significant increase in the overlap shear properties of the adhesive while maintaining the peel adhesion.

High shear pressure-sensitive adhesive

An adhesive composition comprising an emulsion polymer which comprises a (meth)acrylate copolymer and silica nanoparticles is described. The addition of the nanoparticles results in a significant increase in the overlap shear properties.

Pressure-sensitive adhesive containing silica nanoparticles

A pressure sensitive adhesive is described comprising an acrylate copolymer, silica nanoparticles and crosslinked by a polyfunctional aziridine crosslinking agent.

Acrylate adhesives containing silica nanoparticles crosslinked with polyfunctional aziridines

A pressure sensitive adhesive composition comprising a 2-octyl (meth)acrylate/(meth)acrylic acid copolymer and a crosslinking agent is described. The adhesive composition may be derived from renewable resources and provides good peel, shear and high temperature stability.

This invention is directed to a reinforced adhesive fiber that includes a pressure sensitive adhesive component and a reinforcing material within the pressure sensitive adhesive component.

Pressure sensitive adhesive fibers with a reinforcing material

A laminated composite suitable for use in medical products such as tapes and wraps. The composite includes, for example, a first nonwoven fiber layer, an elastic layer, a melt blown adhesive fiber layer, and a second nonwoven fiber layer. A scrim layer serves as a deadstop, or stretch limit, to prevent over stretching. The non-woven fiber layer(s) and/or the scrim layer form suitable loops for a hook and loop fastening system. The scrim layer in some embodiments is employed to make the composite finger tearable. The melt blown adhesive layer, nonwoven web layer and elastic layer form a breathable, porous elastic composite. Methods of manufacturing the composite are also disclosed.

Laminated composites

The present invention relates to a blend of at least one (meth)acrylate polymer and at least one amorphous propylene-derived polymer, and an optional tackifier that provide pressure sensitive adhesive compositions in which improved peel adhesion to at least one of low and relatively high surface energy substrates can be achieved.

Pressure sensitive adhesive blends comprising (meth)acrylate polymers and articles therefrom

A low trauma pressure-sensitive adhesive coated substrate comprising a sheet material, tape or laminate structure designed to adhere to skin or like surfaces. The pressure-sensitive adhesive layer of this adhesive coated substrate is a fibrous adhesive layer generally having a basis weight of from 5 to 200 g/m applied to a conformable backing or substrate. The fibrous adhesive layer has a textured outer face and persistent porosity between discrete adhesive fibers. Generally, the fibrous adhesive layer has a MVTR (measured by ASTM E 96-80 at 40&deg; C.) of at least 1000 g/m /day, preferably at least 6000 g/m /day.

Low trauma adhesive article

The present invention relates to pressure-sensitive adhesive compositions. The compositions comprise a poly(1-alkene) pressure-sensitive adhesive component, a non-pressure-sensitive adhesive component, and a radiation-activatable curing agent. The invention further provides pressure-sensitive adhesive tapes and methods for making the compositions and tapes.

Radiation curable poly(1-alkene) based pressure-sensitive adhesives

A low trauma pressure-sensitive adhesive coated substrate comprising a sheet material, tape or laminate structure designed to adhere to skin or like surfaces. The pressure-sensitive adhesive layer of this adhesive coated substrate is a fibrous adhesive layer generally having a basis weight of from 5 to 200 g/m,applied to a conformable backing or substrate. A dispensable nonwoven cohesive wrap that is generally dispensed from a self-wound roll. The nonwoven cohesive wrap comprises mutually entangled fibers at least some of which are pressure-sensitive adhesive fibers. The cohesive wrap also generally has a basis weight of from 40 to 200 grams/m.sup.2, a tensile strength of at least 100 grams/2.5 cm and a T-peel from itself of from 1 to 30 grams/2.5 cm. The wrap is preferably a single layer material without a separate adhesive coating or release coating where the adhesive fibers extend through the entire depth dimension of the wrap, such that a portion of the adhesive fibers are on both faces of the wrap, and preferably are uniformly distributed across the length and width dimensions of the wrap.

Nonwoven cohesive wrap

There is provided pressure-sensitive adhesive coated breathable nonwoven tape backing substrate where the nonwoven tape backing comprises a fibrous nonwoven web formed in part by multicomponent fibers having an adhesive component region. The multicomponent fibers are distributed throughout the width dimension of the nonwoven tape backing such that adhesive component region is exposed on both outer faces of the nonwoven tape backing. The adhesive component region is preferably a pressure-sensitive adhesive region formed by hot melt coextrusion of at least two components to form the multicomponent fibers. A pressure-sensitive adhesive tape layer is coated onto at least one face of the nonwoven tape backing which pressure-sensitive adhesive tape layer is preferably of the same type of adhesive as that forming the adhesive region of the multicomponent fiber or is at least compatible with the adhesive region of the multicomponent fiber such that the adhesive has enhanced adhesive properties to the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape layer.
