Tamper evident container closure

This invention provides a tubular container body and closure assembly with a smooth or flush outside surface. The assembly is provided with bayonet type child resistant closure and tear away tamper resistant band. The container body has a recess to receive a teartab on the tear away band so that the flush outside surface is maintained, the recess in the body being so positioned that when the tear tab is aligned with the recess an internal bead on the closure forming part of the bayonet type locking arrangement is aligned with an external locking slot on the body so that the closure can be applied to the body by a longitudinal downward movement.

Child resistant and tamper-resistant container and closure assembly

The invention provides a container closure with a top, a skirt depending from the top, a tear-away tamper resistant band connected to the skirt by frangible means and a tear tab on the band arranged so that it is inclined upwardly and outwardly in order to ensure that when a container with a closure in position is being packed into a carbon bottom end first the tear tab on the closures does not catch on the rim of the carton. Preferably the tear tab is connected by a frangible tongue to a thumb push on the skirt and disposed immediately above the tear tab.

Tamper-resistant closure

The present invention provides a closure for a container. The closure is provided with a tunnel member into which any appropriate implement such as the handle of a teaspoon can be inserted when it is desired to manipulate the closure e.g. for opening. The provision of the tunnel member is of great assistance to people lacking in manual dexterity.

A tamper-resistant screw cap and container body assembly has a cap which is connected to a safety band which can turn with the cap when the cap is being screwed on to the container body but which is held against turning when the cap is being screwed off, by the engagement of discontinuous ratchet-shaped inner beads on the cap with discontinuous ratchet-shaped outer beads on the container body beneath a continuous outer retaining bead.

This invention provides a Turn-Lok closure with a child-resistant press and turn feature in which the closure is also provided with a tamper-resistant means including a safety band connected to the Turn-Lok part of the closure by frangible means.

The invention provides a closure, for a container, in which the closure is provided with means to engage with the wall of a container when the closure is in operative position so that the closure cannot be removed until the closure and/or the container is manipulated to disengage the closure from the container and in which the closure includes a tamper-resistant band connected to the main part of the closure by frangible means so that the closure cannot be removed initially from the container without first breaking the frangible means.

A tamper-resistant screw closure for a bottle or the like having an external screw thread in which a cap with a top and a depending skirt and a tamper-resistant band below the skirt has spaced apart frangible tongues connecting with the skirt and the tamper-resistant band and the tamper-resistant band has internal projections engaging below the external projecting means on the bottle to resist movement of the band when the closure is unscrewed so that the frangible tongues break to show that the closure has been removed.

This invention provides a tamper-resistant fitment to convert a container which has a conventional cap or lid into a container which is tamper-resistant. The fitment has an outer rim member adapted to seat on the top edge of the container, an inner member to seat on the top of the cap, a plurality of grip tabs projecting from the outer rim member so as to extend downwardly along the outside of the container, a tension belt to hold the grip tabs in operative position and frangible means connecting the inner member to the outer rim member.

Tamper resistant fitment for a container

This invention provides a tamper-resistant and child-resistant container and cap assembly in which a container body with a substantially cylindrical neck including an externally screw threaded portion near to the top and a plurality of lugs at the bottom, a cap with a cap body which tapers internally outwardly from an internally screw-threaded part near to the top and which has a corresponding number of depending webs near to the bottom for engagement with the lugs of the container body in the manner of a ratchet and pawl mechanism and a tamper-resistant band provided below the cap body and connected thereto by frangible tongues, the band being shaped to engage with the container body so that when the cap is unscrewed the cap body rises but the band is held down and the frangible tongues are broken.

This invention provides a container and closure assembly in which the container has an open mouth, a rim around the mouth, a cut-out in the rim and annular closure retaining means below the rim and in which the closure has a top to close the mouth of the container, an inner depending plug to enter the mouth of the container, a tear band, means shaped to engage with the closure retaining means on the container and a thumb-receiving recess in the plug.

This invention provides a closure which is both tamper-resistant and child-resistant. The closure has a cap part including a top and a skirt, a tear band and a captive band, the tear band being connected to the skirt and to the captive band by lines of weakness and tell tale bridge members are provided so that the tear band cannot be removed without breaking the bridge members to provide the tamper-resistant feature. To provide the child-resistant feature the skirt of the cap part has an internal projection which can pass through an opening in an arcuate bead on an associated container only when the cap part is turned into a predetermined position.

A plastics container and closure assembly in which the closure has a cap part, a tear away band, an anchor band, a hinge connecting the cap part to the anchor band and a bung to seat within the mouth of the container. The bung is deeper on one side than on the other whereby when viewed from one side the bottom of the bung is formed by an oblique line extending upwardly from the deepest part of the bung to the shallowest part and wherein the shallowest part of the bung is adjacent to a thumb tab by which the cap may be manipulated and the deepest part of the bung is adjacent to the hinge. The anchor band has an auxiliary band retaining projection positioned when in use below the auxiliary bead on the container and a main band-retaining projection when in use below the main band-retaining bead the arrangement being such that when the tear-off strip is removed the cap part remains connected to the anchor band by a hinge and the anchor band is firmly held in position.
