Apparatus for cleaning foreign particles from the surface of sheets of material, such as printed circuit boards during fabrication processing. Two pairs of sheet cleaning rollers are located along the sheet path, and the sheet is passed through the nips between the pairs of rollers. The rollers have a surface tack sufficient to transfer the foreign particles from the surfaces of the sheet to the cleaning roller surfaces. Upper and lower roller cleaning rolls having surfaces of even greater surface tack are arranged in tangential contact with respective ones of the sheet cleaning rollers. The surfaces of the roller cleaning rolls have even greater surface tack, sufficient to transfer the foreign particles from the sheet cleaning rollers to the cleaning roll surfaces. An adjustable preload force is applied to each roller cleaning roll to urge each roll against the sheet cleaning roller surfaces. The adjustable preload force also controls the nip pressure between the cleaning rollers and the sheet surface improving the cleaning ability of the system. The apparatus further includes a system for preventing delamination of layers of the sheet. Endless belts are reeved about pulleys and about grooves formed in the sheet cleaning rollers, and provide a belt region remaining in contact with the sheet even after the region of the sheet has passed through the nip of the cleaning rollers. This prevents the outer layer of the sheet from lifting away from the body of the sheet.

Sheet cleaning apparatus

A single use hypodermic syringe uses a generally cylindrical elongated syringe body defining a center bore and supporting a hollow needle in communication with the center bore through the inlet/output channel. A movable piston formed of an elastic material is sealingly supported within the syringe bore. A piston driver member extends into the syringe bore and is coupled to the piston. An annulus ring is fixed within the center bore near the inlet/outlet channel. The annulus permits the piston to pass over it when delivering an injection but locks onto the piston at the completion of the injection, precluding any further use of the syringe.

Single use hypodermic syringe

A draining catheter for the prevention of infectious diseases around its outside periphery, which has a secondary channel system for the application of anti-microbial agents to the area surrounding its outside periphery.

Infection-resistant catheter

A single use hypodermic syringe uses a generally cylindrical elongated syringe body defining a center bore and supporting a hollow needle in communication with the center bore. A movable piston preferably formed of rubber or resilient plastic material is sealingly supported within the syringe bore. A driver member extends into the syringe bore and is coupled to the piston by a coupling which features upon a single use. Several embodiments of the single use coupling are shown which fraction to preclude any further use of the syringe once the fluid injection operation has been implemented by the syringe.

Hypodermic syringe for single use

A high speed short stroke saw for cutting plaster casts, bone and the like, is constructed to operate with minimal noise from the mechanism. The motor driven rotary shaft and the oscillating saw blade shaft are mounted in bearing support structures in a casing. The rotary motion of the motor shaft is translated to the oscillating motor of the saw blade by a bearing mounted cam that fits within a drive rod and receives the motor shaft. The drive rod is connected to a bearing mounted crank which receives the saw blade shaft. This entire mechanism is sealed in oil.

Several embodiments of the single use coupling are shown which function to preclude any further use of the syringe once the fluid injection operation has been implemented by the syringe.

Provided herein is a demand breathing device including a motion sensitive sensor which sends signals corresponding to torso movement to a controller incorporating electronic differentiation to indicate the direction of torso movement corresponding to the expansion and retraction of inhalation and exhalation, respectively, and to energize a solenoid valve which interrupts oxygen flow during exhalation.

Demand oxygen supply device

A continuous passive orthopedic device for the exercising of limbs for therapy, rehabilitation or healing, including a compact drive mechanism which permits the device to be located solely within the confines of a standard hospital bed and permits the leg of a patient to be supported in a near horizontal position when it is straight. Control of the angle of flex is accomplished through a control instrument located at the knee joint. The control instrument includes a pair of adjustable indicators which can be moved to the desired end points of flexure. The device includes a narrow base plate which allows the patient to keep his legs closer together during use. Also included is a mechanism whereby the ankle can be flexed between preset angles simultaneously with the flexing of the knee.

Continuous passive motion orthopedic device

A propellant storage construction having a chamber for storing propellant and a passage leading to the chamber and containing a valve unit therein for opening and closing the passage, the construction having a removable pressure regulator unit interconnected thereto and being operatively associated with the valve unit for operating the valve unit in relation to the pressure of the propellant having passed through the valve unit. One of the passage and the pressure regulator unit defines a generally conical seat adjacent the valve unit and on the side thereof opposite to the chamber and the other of the passage and the pressure regulator unit having a generally conical nose-like member seated in the seat to fluidly interconnect the pressure regulator unit to the passage downstream from the valve unit.

Propellant storage construction, parts therefor and methods of making

A system for detecting and locating a source of radiation in which an image orthicon tube, sensitive only to infrared emissions at the wavelength of the source, is scanned along first and second orthogonal axes and, upon sensing incoming radiation, generates a signal which is applied to an analog computer which analyzes the signal, determines the direction from which it came, and arms a suitable responding device, such as a weapon, at the source of radiation. Provision is made for storing signals from a plurality of radiation sources so that the responding device is aimed at each in sequence.
