A readily assembled transducer assembly. The assembly includes a cup-shaped housing for the transducer magnetic structure. The housing has sized slots for receiving the pole piece tips and nesting members for positioning the coil bobbins, the pole pieces and permanent magnet bar within the housing. The cup is placed on a plate of magnetic material so that the pole tips are attracted to the plate and held firmly in place. With the pole tips held, a potting compound may be introduced into the cup cavity. As the compound is hardening, terminals and a cap cover may be applied. When the compound has set, the assembly is removed and is ready for use.

Telephone transducer assembly and method of making same

A telephone-type ringer assembly with an improved volume control operable from the exterior of the closed housing in which the ringer is contained. The volume control comprises an eccentric control wheel for one gong to settably vary the distance from the striker to one gong. The setting of the gong is controlled by a detent pivoting the control wheel with the detent position being controlled by a rod having an eccentric connection to a setting control on the housing exterior or directly through a suitable slot in the base which does not require the rod and attached lever. The ringer is designed to be mounted to the base directly on bosses molded onto the ringer frame. This mounting alternatively allows a detent spring extension to project through the bottom of the base for direct control, eliminating the need for a linkage. Pivotal movement of the control advances or retracts the rod to pivot the detent accordingly, the detent mating with plural position stops in the assembly within the ambit of lateral extent travel stops.

Ringer assembly

Disclosed is a rotary dial with improved mounting arrangements for assembling the dial and for securing the dial within a telephone instrument. A rotary dial using the present construction features allows one common dial base to be mounted in a number of different housing configurations. The common dial base is fabricated of molded high impact plastic into which mounting members using the present design may be snap-fitted. By providing snap-in mounting members in a plurality of slightly different configurations, the same dial may fit within a plurality of dial housings. As a further part of the improved mounting structure, an easily mountable locking ring is employed to cooperate with the dial base and snap lock a number ring firmly in place.
