A control device for an electrical heating device for a cooking field with a cooking field plate comprises an electro-mechanical switching device for adjusting a power of said heating device with different power levels and comprises two different heating element. The switching device is configured so that starting from a zero-position and rotating in a first rotation direction, a power level for a first heating element is adjusted in a cooking-mode. Rotation in the other direction activates a second heating element in a warm-keeping mode with significantly lower power. A relay is closed by a thermomechanical temperature sensing device below a defined switching temperature of 60&#xb0; C. to 100&#xb0; C. and opened above the switching temperature. When closed, the relay connects the two heating elements to an operating voltage for common operation. When opened, the first heating element is switched off for exclusive operation of the second heating element.

Control device for an electrical heating device for a cooking field, cooking field and method for operating such an electrical heating device

An electrical heating device for a cooking field with a cooking field plate is arranged beneath the cooking field plate and comprises a support, wherein along a rim of said support a rim part in ring form is placed. The heating device comprises a longitudinal heating element for generating heating power for said cooking field to keep food warm that is placed in a saucepan upon it above the heating device. The heating element is arranged in a circumferential groove in said support. In a direction radially inwardly to a central region over the support a gap is provided between the rim part and the support for heating power from said heating element to exit into the central region as a heating of the cooking field plate above the heating device.

An electrical heating device has an integrally manufactured support made from insulating material. Depressed paths for introducing a heating element are provided. A klixon functioning as a thermally actuated switch is inserted from above into an opening in the central area of the support and its electrical terminals project over the bottom side and are bent round for mechanical fixing.

An electrical heating device has an integrally manufactured support made from an insulating material. A depressed path is provided for the introduction of a coiled round heating element into the support. In the bottom side of the support, additional depressions are made in support and pass into the depressed path and form undercuts. In the area of the undercuts the heating element is flattened in the path and thereby pressed into the undercuts and consequently can be no longer moved out of said path.

A controller of a hob is connected to a temperature sensor of a radiation based heating element. In principle, two different groups of temperature sensors can be used, whose resistance values differ by approximately a factor of three. When the hob is first used, the resistance of the temperature sensor is measured at room temperature and is classified in one of the two groups of temperature sensors on the basis of a limit value between the two typical temperature profiles of the groups of temperature sensors. On the basis of this, calibration of the controller is carried out for the purpose of adjusting to the established group to which the temperature sensor belongs.

A hob comprising a plurality of radiant heating devices, each of which is further comprised of a support and a heat conductor mounted thereon. An elongate and tubular temperature sensor having a temperature sensitive element in a glass envelope extends along the support and is embedded therein to such a degree so as to project only slightly upwards. Ends of the temperature sensor with connections extend to the edge of the support or even project beyond.

The temperature limiter trips a power relay in order to switch the second heating device simultaneously with the first heating device.

An appliance for a hotplate has two heating devices installed parallel to one another. With an energy control device and as a function of an angular position, either a first heating device is operated in controlled manner or a second heating device is connected thereto in fixed form. The power of the second heating device is defined so low that no temperature limiter for protecting a glass ceramic plate has to be provided in the control path of the second heating device. On connecting in the second heating device, the controlled power of the first heating device is lowered to an initial value by roughly the amount of the power of the second heating device. The total power results from the summated power of the two heating devices.

A radiant heater is provided, which is subdivided into three concentric areas and which can be mounted under a glass ceramic cooking area. It has a rod controller and the two innermost heating areas are jointly protected against excess temperatures by means of the rod controller. The outermost heating area has a low surface power of 2.5 W/cm, for example, and consequently does not have to be monitored by the rod regulator with regards to the danger of an excess temperature for a glass ceramic cooking area.

The sensor ( ) is mad from electrically conductive material and is part of an inductive resonant circuit of a control operating by resonant circuit detuning. It also covers a heating zone ( ) of the radiant heater ( ). The sensor ( ) runs substantially linearly and, unlike conventional sensor coils, has a loopless construction. It is e.g. possible to stretch a wire ( ) or also to use the tube ( ) of a rod regulator.

Electric radiant element with an active sensor for cooking vessel detection

A shaped thermal insulation body comprises inorganic material. The shaped body has the following, weight-related composition: approx. 20 wt. % inorganic filling material: approx. 40 wt. % opacifier; approx. 10 wt. % fibrous material; and approx. 15 wt. % hardening agent as well as approx. 15 wt. % water. The shaped body only contains a small amount of fumed silica with a comparatively small BET surface. Water glass is excluded during its manufacture. It can be used as a spacer for radiant heaters.

According to an exemplary embodiment of the invention a radiant heater ( ) for a glass ceramic cooking area ( ) is created. By means of a holder ( ) the sensor ( ) can be fixed to the carrier shell ( ). The holder does not project over the underside of the carrier shell ( ). In one embodiment the holder with barb-like ends reaches into an opening in the carrier shell and is fixed to locking edges of the carrier shell.

Radiant heater

On the one hand is provided an electric heating element ( ) consisting of a semiconducting ceramic ( ) as well as a method for its production. The semiconducting ceramic material may be porous or foamed to thus contain pores ( ) open outwardly. The pores are attainable by admixing filler bodies, which dissolve during sintering, to the starting material or by impreganting a textile substrate material ( ) with a ceramic material. Due to the porosity of the heating element ( ) an increased radiant surface area is attained. On the other hand is provided an electric heating element ( ) as well as a method for its production which consists of semiconducting ceramic and comprises a negative temperature coefficient of the electrical resistance. The temperature coefficient is negative throughout over the full operating temperature range. The material suitable for the heating element ( ) is doped silicon carbide or TiN. One such heating element ( ) may be put to use, for example, rod-shaped in a radiant heater body ( ) or foil-shaped at the underside of a surface element ( ) of a cooktop ( ). The electric conductivity of the material of the heating element ( ) can be adjusted by nitrogen absorption during annealing in a nitrogen atmosphere subsequent to the sintering process.

Electric heating element and method for its production
