A machine tool comprises a spindle having a tool receptacle for receiving tool holders in their working position. A tool changer is provided for conveying a tool holder in a first changing step between a magazine position and a spindle position at said spindle. Further provided is a linear stroke mechanism for conveying said tool holder in a second changing step between said spindle position and said working position. A common drive mechanism is linked to said tool changer and said linear stroke mechanism such as to affect both said first and second changing step.

Machine tool having a tool changing device with linear stroke mechanism

A machine tool comprises a spindle and a tool changer for conveying tool holders between a magazine position and a working position at the spindle. The tool changer has two longitudinal rods and two transverse rods that are joined to said two longitudinal rods via universal joints so as to form an articulated rectangle. Each of said two longitudinal rods is rotatably mounted in the vicinity of its respective center. The tool changer comprises two grippers for gripping said tool holders to be conveyed. Said grippers are mounted on certain of said longitudinal and transverse rods such that upon rotation of the longitudinal rods the grippers are conveyed between said magazine position and working position while substantially maintaining said tool holders in their preferably vertical orientation.

Machine tool

A machine tool comprises a headstock (12) having a rotatable spindle (16) and having motor means for rotatably driving said spindle (16). At least one gripper (26) is provided for gripping a tool holder (18) and for transferring same from a first, uncoupled position outside said spindle (16) into a second, ready-to-couple position within said spindle (16). Coupling means (35) are provided at said headstock (12) for coupling said tool holder (18) in said second, ready-to-couple position with said spindle (16) such that said tool holder (18) assumes one of at least two coupled conditions, whereby in such coupled condition said tool holder (18) is locked on said spindle (16) for rotation therewith. Said at least two coupled conditions differ from one another with respect to a relative angular alignment between said tool holder (18) and said spindle (16). Control means are provided for controlling said motor means and having sensor means (48) for detecting said tool holder (18) to be in one of said coupled conditions and for differentiating between said at least two coupled conditions.

A machine tool, in particular a long-bed machine tool, comprises a column (11) that can be displaced in at least a first axis (13), and at least one spindle (15) clamped rotatably at support points (22, 23) in the region of its two outer ends (20, 21). The spindle (15, 16) extends parallel to the first axis (13) and is joined to the column (11) in such a way that when the spindle (15) rotates, the column (11) is displaced in the first axis (13). A damping apparatus (28) acting on the spindle (15) between the support points (22, 23), which damps any vibrations of the spindle, is provided on the machine tool. The damping mechanism (28) is displaceable along the first axis (13) at least to some extent independently from the column (11).

Machine tool, in particular long-bed machine tool

A machine tool comprises a tool exchanger for exchanging tools between a vertical-axis spindle and a load/unload position of a tool magazine. The load/unload position is located, in a front view of the machine tool, above the spindle and laterally offset therefrom. The tool exchanger, further, comprises two exchanger arms operating reciprocally, each contributing to conveying a first tool from the spindle to the load/unload position and, simultaneously, a second tool from the load/unload position to the spindle. The exchanger arms are each rotatable about one separate axis only. Each of the exchanger arms exchanges its associated tool between the spindle and one separate transfer position each. The two transfer positions associated to the two exchanger arms are located at different distances in front of the load/unload position on the tool magazine. Further, a transfer device is provided for transferring the tools between the load/unload position and, alternately, one of the transfer positions.

A machine tool comprises a travelling column, a spindle stock to be displaced on the travelling column, and a tool magazine. Toolholders are stored in the tool magazine and may be individually conveyed into a transfer position within the tool magazine. Two gripper arms serve to interchange the toolholders between the transfer position on the tool magazine and a working position in the spindle. The orientation of the toolholders during interchanging is maintained. The gripper arms are separately mounted on the spindle head and can be pivoted simultaneously and in opposite directions along locus curves. The gripper arms have grippers to hold the toolholders during the interchanging between the transfer position and the working position. The transfer position and the working position lie in a common vertical plane. The transfer position is located in the area of the travelling column front side facing toward the spindle stock. The tool magazine extends from a rear side of the travelling column through a tunnel in the travelling column to the transfer position. In the area between the positions the locus curves run at a lateral distance from the vertical plane.

A machine tool (10) comprises a spindle head (11) and a workpiece table (12), in which a first region is provided as a machining side (14) for first workpieces (17) for machining by means of a tool, and in which a second region as a loading side (15) can be loaded with second workpieces (17'), preferably while the first workpieces (17) are being machined. The two regions (14, 15) can be exchanged by means of relative positional change between the spindle head (11) and the workpiece table (12) occurring in the direction of a first coordinate (18) of the workpiece table (12). A spray shielding panel (16), extending in the direction of a second coordinate (19) approximately perpendicular to the first coordinate (18), is provided between the regions (14, 15). The spray shielding panel (16) is configured at least in sections with a variable length in the direction of the second coordinate (19).

A machine tool comprises a workpiece table that can rotate about a vertical axis. A first spray shielding panel is rigidly attached to the workpiece table substantially along one diameter thereof. It divides the workpiece table into a placement side and a machining side. A second spray shielding panel is stationary and is arranged above the first spray shielding panel, and runs substantially parallel thereto. An articulated third spray shielding panel connects the first and second spray shielding panel to one another. It is connected at its top in a hinged manner to the second spray shielding panel and is provided with a channel at its bottom that encloses an upper edge of the first spray shielding panel over a finite length.

A compressed-air generator with adjustable pressure output and/or adjustable air throughput has a housing (11) and a fan motor arranged in the housing (11) below the top side (27) thereof. Further provided is an adjustment member which may be adjusted by way of a rotary knob (45) and which is provided for adjustment of the pressure output and/or the air throughput. In the compressed-air generator (8), a protective apparatus (47) at least partially covering the rotary knob (45) is provided, with the rotary knob (45) preferably being arranged on the top side (27) of the housing (11) (FIG. 1).

A machine tool is equipped with a machine bed (10) and a carriage (23) of a headstock which is guided linearly on the said bed. To this end, the machine bed is provided with a guide rail (11), while the carriage (23) is equipped with a shoe (20) running on the guide rail (11) in form-locking engagement. The shoe (20) and the guide rail (11) engage each other by flat sliding surfaces (51 to 56) formed by the surfaces (51, 53, 55) of plastic sliding pads (46, 48, 50) and by metallic surfaces (52, 54, 56). The guide rail (11) has a narrower lower portion (15) and a wider upper portion (16) comprising a projection (17) extending laterally beyond the lower portion (15). The shoe (20) is split along a horizontal plane (40) and has its upper part (30) guided by the upper face of the projection (17) and its lower part guided by the lower face of the projection (17) (FIG. 3).

A machine tool comprises two motion units, in particular a spindle stock and a machine bed, arranged for being displaced relative to each other along one axis. A guideway is fixed to a first motion unit for guiding the displaceable motion unit, a first surface of the guideway being in contact with, and screwed to a second surface of the first motion unit. In order to prevent the guideways from being dislodged in a direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the machine screws, for example when the spindle stock runs up against a stationary obstacle due to improper operation, at least one of the said surface is roughened.

Machine tool housing

A device serves for producing mounting bores or valve bores in a wheel disk and/or a rim of a wheel of a motor vehicle. The bores are at least partly inclined relative to a center axis of the wheel. A fixture serves for mounting the wheel. A motor-operated tool is used for producing the bores. In order to achieve minimum machining times, means are provided for pivoting the said holding fixture, with the said wheel mounted therein, relative to a work table about an axis extending at a certain inclination relative to the center axis of the said wheel.

A machine tool comprises a magazine for toolholders which can be transferred, by means of a transfer system, from a fixture arranged for being displaced in the magazine into a hand of a gripper arm. In order to guarantee that the tool holders are transferred from the magazine into the hand of the gripper in an exactly defined position, the transfer means comprises means for fixing the said toolholders against rotation.
