A method of chromatically-corrected image demosaicing for a sensor with a colour filter array (CFA) such as a Bayer filter array. The demosaicing makes use of local chromatic aberration correction data to determine chromatically-corrected pixel positions for spatial interpolation. In implementations a chromatically-corrected quadratic adjustment is also applied.

Image demosaicing taking account of chromatic aberration

A method of distributed authorization of one or more client applications to one or more connected devices. The method comprises: receiving at a connected device, from a browser executing a client application, a client token and an access request. The client token has been provided to the client application by a process comprising generating one or more client tokens, one for each of one or more client applications (a client token defines permissions for a client application and a domain hosting the client application); signing the client tokens with a private key of a client token issuer, and distributing the client tokens to the client applications; verifying a signature of the client token using a public key of the client token issuer; determining whether the client token grants the client application permission for the access request and, if permission is granted: replying to the browser with a redirect response including an access token granting permission for the client application to access the connected device and identification of the domain hosting the client application from the client token; and executing the redirect response with the browser to make the access token available to the client application for use by the client application when requesting the connected device to perform a task.

Device authorization systems

An image capture system comprises a camera configured to capture an image of a whiteboard, or similar, viewed from an acute angle. A linear polarizer has a surface substantially perpendicular to a plane of the board and an axis of polarization substantially perpendicular to the plane of the board or within 30&#xb0; of the perpendicular to the plane of the board. The camera is configured to capture the image of the board through the polarizer. A normal to the polarizer is directed in a different direction to a direction defined by an optic axis of the camera.

Timeline image capture systems and methods

A method of capturing writing or drawing on a whiteboard comprises inputting camera data for a succession of image frames of the whiteboard, and processing data from said image frames to remove parts of the image frames corresponding to parts of a user or user pen writing or drawing on the whiteboard. The processing involves filtering to distinguish between i) motion of the user/user pen parts in the image frames, and ii) writing/drawing image information in the image frames which appears or changes during said writing or drawing but which is thereafter substantially unchanging. The filtered data defines captured writing or drawing from the whiteboard.

Various approaches to touch sensing systems are disclosed As an example, a touch sensing system is disclosed that includes: an optical beam source to provide an optical beam; a pair of controllable beam deflectors comprising at least first and second beam deflectors, wherein the first beam deflector is configured to deflect the optical beam through a first angle towards a touch sensing region, and wherein the second beam deflector is configured to deflect scattered light from an object in the touch sensing region through a second angle; a detector, in particular a detector array; and an imaging system to image the deflected scattered light from the second beam deflector onto the detector array. The first and second beam deflectors are controlled in tandem to scan the touch sensing region.

Scanning touch systems

We describe a touch sensing system projecting light defining a touch sheet above a surface and a camera to capture a touch image of light scattered by a pen intersecting the touch sheet. A signal processor identifies a lateral location of the pen. The pen includes a light source to provide a light signal, and the system also includes two photodiodes to detect the signal from the pen. The touch detection is augmented by modelling the signals received at the photodiodes, dependent on the distance and angle of a pen, and using this to derive a probability of the observed received signals given the pen location determined from the touch sheet. This information can be used, for example, to allocate identities to the pens.

Touch sensing systems

We describe a touch sensitive image display device including: an image projector to project a displayed image onto a surface; a touch sensor light source to project a plane of light above the displayed image; a camera to capture a touch sense image from light scattered from the plane of light by an approaching object; and a signal processor to process the touch sense image to identify a location of the object. The touch sensor light source is amplitude modulated, and signal processor is further configured to process a plurality of the touch sense images captured when the touch sensor light source is off to compensate for ambient light in a touch sense image captured when the touch sensor light source is on.

Touch-sensitive display devices

A touch screen display device includes a plurality of display pixels for generating an image, emitters interspersed among the display pixels and emitting light, and detectors interspersed among the display pixels for detecting light. The light from the emitters is coupled into a transparent substrate to reach the front surface which transmits light incident at an angle smaller than a critical angle and which totally internally reflects light which is incident at an angle greater than the critical angle. The display device further includes processing means coupled to the emitters and detectors for detecting the light reaching each detector from different specific emitters and determining the light that is received by each detector that may be due to direct reflection from a near-field object, and the light that is totally internally reflected and which may be frustrated by a touching object.

Touch screen display device

A touch sensitive device, the device comprising: a touch sensor light source to project a plane of light above a surface; a camera directed to capture a touch sense image from a region including at least a portion of said plane of light, said touch sense image comprising light scattered from said plane of light by a plurality of said objects simultaneously approaching or touching said surface; a signal processor coupled to said camera, to process a said touch sense image from said camera to identify a lateral location of each of said objects; and an output object position output, to provide output object positions for said plurality of objects; and wherein said signal processor is further configured to: input a succession of said touch sense images; process each said touch sense image to identify a plurality of candidate object touch positions; and filter said candidate object touch positions from said successive touch sense images to link said candidate object touch positions to previously identified output object positions for said plurality of objects; and update said previously identified output object positions using said linked candidate object touch positions.

Touch sensitive display devices

An organic electroluminescent device comprising: a transparent substrate; a first electrode disposed over the substrate for injecting charge of a first polarity; a second electrode disposed over the first electrode for injecting charge of a second polarity opposite to said first polarity; an organic light-emitting layer disposed between the first and the second electrode, wherein the second electrode is reflective, the first electrode is transparent or semi-transparent, and one or more intermediate layers of dielectric material with a refractive index greater than 1.8 or a metal material is disposed between the substrate and the first electrode forming a semi-transparent mirror whereby a microcavity is provided between the reflective second electrode and the semi-transparent mirror, all the intermediate layers disposed between the substrate and the first electrode having a surface nearest the organic light-emitting layer not more than 150 nm from a surface of the first electrode nearest the organic light-emitting layer.

Organic electroluminescent device

An OLED lighting element comprises a substrate bearing an OLED structure extending laterally over said substrate and sandwiched between first and second electrode layers. The first electrode layer defines a plurality of electrically conductive tracks and said second electrode layer comprises a substantially continuous electrically conducting layer. The OLED lighting element has an electrical bus-bar connected to said electrically conductive tracks extending substantially completely along the or each lateral edge of said lighting element. The electrically conductive tracks run in a radial direction from a laterally central location within said lighting element towards said bus-bar along said lateral edges of said lighting element. A said track subdivides into a plurality of tracks with increasing distance from said central location. This arrangement makes more efficient use of the conductive tracks.

Lighting elements

A method of driving an electro-optic display comprising providing a current source, digitally modulating the current source and generating a modulated digital signal, and converting the modulated digital signal into an effective analog drive signal so that the display pixels receive an effective analog drive current, wherein the internal capacitance of the electro-optic display smooths the digitally modulated signal and generates the effective analog drive signal.

An apparatus such as a touch screen display includes correlated emitter-detector pairs for determining the amount of electromagnetic radiation received at a detector from its paired emitter. The apparatus comprises an array of emitters operable to emit electromagnetic radiation, an array of detectors for detecting the electromagnetic radiation, and drive control circuitry configured to control the array of emitters so that they emit pulses of electromagnetic radiation. The amplitude of the pulses is modulated using mutually orthogonal binary vectors such as a Paley construction of the Hadamard matrix. Each emitter has a different vector associated with it. Detection circuitry is provided to detect the electromagnetic radiation reaching each particular detector in the array of detectors using the mutually orthogonal binary vector associated with the correlated emitter to produce a correlation between particular emitter-detector pairs. The arrangement can discriminate between near field and touching objects.
