An ethylene/&agr;-olefin copolymer having a density of 0.900 to 0.965 g/cm ; having an MI of 0.01 to 100 g/10 minutes; in a chromatogram with the use of Rayleigh ratio obtained by extrapolating GPC-MALLS data at a scattering angle of 0&deg;, showing an average {overscore (Mc)} obtained by measuring five times of 0.5% or more and a standard deviation <&sgr;> from the average of 35% or less, wherein Mc stands for the chromatographic area ratio of the components having molecular weight of 1,000,000 or more calculated on the basis of the above measurement; and having a W30 (weight fraction of the portion eluted below 30&deg; C.) in CFC measurement of 1 (% by weight) or less; and a film thereof.

Ethylene/&agr;-olefin copolymer and film made thereof

There is provided a propylene resin composition having an Izod impact strength (23.degree. C., notched) of not less than 5 kJ/m.sup.2 and a flexural modulus of not less than 500 MPa, wherein as measured by electron spectroscopy for chemical analysis, the ratio of the valence electron spectral intensity at a bond energy of 16.5 eV to the valence electron spectral intensity at a bond energy of 13.5 eV, I 16.5/I 13.5, is in the range of 1.6 to 2.0. There is also provided a method for evaluating a propylene resin composition, which comprises subjecting a propylene resin composition to electron spectroscopy for chemical analysis to measure the ratio of the valence electron spectral intensity at a bond energy of 16.5 eV to the valence electron spectral intensity at a bond energy of 13.5 eV, I 16.5/I 13.5; and evaluating, based on the ratio, the amount of a rubber component present on the surface of the composition.

Propylene resin composition and method for evaluating the same

A propylene resin composition containing talc, comprising the following components (a), (b) and (c) is provided: (a) 100 parts by weight of a propylene/ethylene block copolymer containing a crystalline propylene homopolymer part (Unit A part) and an ethylene/propylene random copolymer part (Unit B part); (b) 0.1 to 80 parts by weight of talc having an average particle size of 1.5 to 20 microns and an average aspect ratio of not less than 4; and (c) 2 to 80 parts by weight of an ethylene/.alpha.-olefin copolymer polymerized by using a metallocene catalyst, and containing an .alpha.-olefin having 3 to 16 carbon atoms. This composition has good paintability, molding processability (fluidity) and excellent mechanical strength balance, and is useful for a material for e.g., automobile parts.

Propylene resin compositions containing talc

The invention relates to an adhesive resin composition comprising an ethylene polymer having a melting point of 70 to 132.degree. C., a density of 0.88 to 0.94% g/cm.sup.3 and a melt flow rate (MFR) of 0.05 to 50 g/10 min. and/or a modified product thereof with an unsaturated carboxylic acid or its derivative (component A); a tackifier (component B); and a block copolymer containing at least one polymer block mainly composed of a vinyl aromatic hydrocarbon and at least one polymer block mainly composed of a conjugated diene or a hydrogenated product thereof (component C). This composition is useful as an adhesives showing excellent adhesion over a wide temperature range as well as processability by film molding, sheet molding, blow molding, etc. It is available for laminates comprising various kinds of resins such as polyolefins, styrenic resins, polyesters, acrylic resins and polyamides.
